PL3, 28 Feb 2012Fair comment but lets not forget Intel are now looking for a peace of the action and are not t... moreYes, but the power consumption of the Intel processors is too high today.... ARM 11 is currently the most power efficient processor, though, not as powerful , but when associated with a powerful GPU like Mali-400MP, it would simply do the job much better.....
besides, the entire Symbian core is calibrated towards , paranoid level, memory management and utilisation of pipelines....so it is inherently more robust...
blueglue, 28 Feb 2012Not entirely mate, the fact is Nokia has to tweak/tune the gpu to get it work with Symbian. it... moreif just only WORK, so N8 won't be the best cameraphone... Because GPU is really important in this area... Yes maybe SYMBIAN is not suite with other GPU but maybe nokia has their own reason like their display (640*360) maybe it's to make their GPU not push too hard while the GPU use to play games or anything else
Santanu Dey, 28 Feb 2012I agree, Symbian cannot have any other processor architecture other than ARM instruction set..... moreFair comment but lets not forget Intel are now looking for a peace of the action and are not to be underestimated. Their first foray is quite impressive thus far.
blueglue, 28 Feb 2012Not entirely mate, the fact is Nokia has to tweak/tune the gpu to get it work with Symbian. it... moreI agree, Symbian cannot have any other processor architecture other than ARM instruction set... but take a look... mostly, 80% of todays processors and GPU are ARM based...
blueglue, 28 Feb 2012interesting, but i am equally surprised and keen to know how and where did you get that number... moreReally? :)
There are over 7 Billion people as of today in the world.
I doubt more than 150-200 million are professional journalists.
So 6.8+ Billion people are not, hence rounding off to 7 Billion. :)
PL3, 28 Feb 2012Hence 7 billion people who don't actually need what this device purports to do with the camera... moreDoesn't matter, when the first iPhone came out, I can remember , people saying that it is not needed.... everytime something revolutionary comes out, there are a bunch of people refuting it.....and you are one of those.....
Anonymous, 28 Feb 2012n8 use broadcom 2727 the new gen of belle use 2763(it's maybe 7 times better than 2727)... You... moreNot entirely mate, the fact is Nokia has to tweak/tune the gpu to get it work with Symbian. its not for better performance, its to make it WORK.
Have you ever thought why SYMBIAN is not released with other GPUs whist there are powerful and good GPUs around? Symbian is just not easily compatible
PL3, 28 Feb 2012My sentiments precisely. To be fair the camera is not actually 41 MP, the sensor is. To my min... morerightly said everything by you, still 41 mpx will be definately better than 12 or 16 mpx and please never underrate symbian without using it yourself freinds....it id very efficient and i love the way it can be customized
blueglue, 28 Feb 2012Probably, its early to comment. but i honestly feel the specs are incomplete with out announci... moreThe broadcom GPU, which N8 used us BCM2727, which has max capability of 720p of video with max 30 fps...
since it is doing 1080p, it cannot be the same.
Another thing is that the data processing speeds of the BCM2727 was limited to cater only 12MP camera sensor modules.... this has a 41MP module, so it is not possible that the same chip is used... it is definitely bigger and better..... and mostly I think, it can be a MALI
RaviSS, 28 Feb 2012There are 7 Billion people in the world who are not professional journalists.interesting, but i am equally surprised and keen to know how and where did you get that number. care to post the details?
RaviSS, 28 Feb 2012There are 7 Billion people in the world who are not professional journalists.Hence 7 billion people who don't actually need what this device purports to do with the camera!! It's a gimmick.
Zong, 28 Feb 2012Cpu is needed for many things else also.. like 600mhz won't encode a 1080p video efficiently e... moreThanks Zong, you gave the comment in much simpler manner.
would you also share why do we need a GPU? is that used for fine graphics at high resolution,heavy/smooth animations, games? correct me if i am wrong.
blueglue, 28 Feb 2012Probably, its early to comment. but i honestly feel the specs are incomplete with out announci... moren8 use broadcom 2727 the new gen of belle use 2763(it's maybe 7 times better than 2727)... You can say that broadcom is not par with tegra or mali 400, but nokia and symbian can optimize this gpu to the max... Not like the other OS. It's not like overclock like in android. So maybe this is the reason why nokia still use belle rather than mango...
arp2x, 28 Feb 2012track your posts mr... you simply dont understand what im talking about...hahahaI very well understand your comment, and i do have track of what i have posted. all i am talking is the relevancy for the comment you replied.
blueglue, 28 Feb 2012Fanboys brag that Belle can run on 600mhz processor, why does this phone need 1.3 mhz? ah, wai... moreCpu is needed for many things else also.. like 600mhz won't encode a 1080p video efficiently etc, and yes the processing is done by the GPU which is unannouced yet...
Anonymous, 28 Feb 2012then its worth processing for...for something visible and enjoyable. and what's your android's... moreIs that what you use processor for? to get better imaging capabilities? lol.
blueglue, 28 Feb 2012Initial point, there is no reason to get android or matter of fact any other os when there isn... moretrack your posts mr... you simply dont understand what im talking about...hahaha
Santanu Dey, 28 Feb 2012GPU is not specified yet.... it would be anytime soon...
if you want to know more about how G... moreProbably, its early to comment. but i honestly feel the specs are incomplete with out announcing a GPU. Even very low end , cheap tabs and phones are announcing.
not sure why NOKIA dint care to reveal the details, i doubt does this have same as n8? Broadcom gpu.which is below the average performing gpus.
