Santanu Dey, 28 Feb 2012Yes, it can run on any single core processors...based on ARM architecture set.....
regarding ... moreCorrection : i have not started it, i replied to an earlier thread. revisit the original agai.
Wonder when no other manufacturer produces a Symbian now,if one has to buy it should be from nokia. and nokia is not allowing that.
Do you agree that NOKIA is snubbing symbian from not expanding?? do you now understand what i am hinting at?
secondly, i still have the standpoint that its not compatible with all single cores?
Inability to provide a Hi-Res screen, precisely, any full hd or atleast nhd capabilities? Is that versatile to be used in tablets? or any tablet version?
dont wish to be provocative with you, but arent they common questions?
This is good.. maybe nokia is now a camera builder and not a cellphone builder..
Bye nokia cellphone..
Welcome nokia camera. Maybe they will sell lenses too..
blueglue, 28 Feb 2012Did i Say SYMBIAN? ...lolz mate
-Can we run Symbian on ARMv6 and ARMv7 architectures? What ... moreYes, it can run on any single core processors...based on ARM architecture set.....
regarding "what is can do"..... you started it first mate, talking about weak OS or something.....
It is like, you are saying, look, Solaris is the world's weakest OS since it only runs on Sparc platforms......
it is seriously making me laugh..and so I came out to give u some information.
I am not backing Nokia's decision of not adding more RAM or a higher processor.. but the thing is , I am talking about Symbian.
Thirdly, talking about what it is doing right now, it is handling 41MP sensor, with the most complete feature set in the market today, with 512MB of RAM and an ARM11 processor....... take that and try to find another phone, with the same feature set on the same spec sheet.....

-Can we run Symbian on ARMv6 and ARMv7 architectures? What about Medfield?
-Why does not nokia increase the RAM size then? will that not make the os more efficient for the price it sells?
Please lets not get into "what it can do" rather focus "what it does" first
Anonymous, 28 Feb 2012Wow! Suddenly the nokia fanboys came out of nowhere and are now brimming with hope in defendin... moreThere are good number of apps for symbian belle as well if you want you can see for yourself. Can you precisely tell what is that android can do and symbian belle can't.
Also if you have to run an android on a same hardware as that of belle are you sure you would even be able to do multi-tasking....forget gaming
blueglue, 28 Feb 2012Oh yes, let me add to the WEAK OS.
- It cant run on different CPUs, fails miserably when ch... moreWhat are you saying???
RAM addressing is based on the number of bits used for processing... a 32 BIT system can run upto 2^32 = 4GB of RAM....
Regarding CPU, it can process all CPU architectures based on ARM, that is upto today A15 processors.. also the same with GPU architecture..
Symbian uses a microkernel, has a request-and-callback approach to services, and maintains separation between user interface and engine. Hence, the other applications can be implemented with the fractional change since it is event based.
Symbian is a 32Bit system, that means the kernel can recognise upto 4GB or RAM.....
Dual core support is not present now since , it requires the change of kernel design, but with its memory management system and the abstraction layer it provides, WE can live without that....
I also doubted nokia on this new released phone(Nokia808), I even called it BS when I heard about it (specially the 41MP thingy)..
But to haters, keyboard warriors, trolls, and fanboys out there, heres something that will fill your empty heads..
Try reading first, so you wont look stupid after posting your "good for nothing messages" in this comment area^_^
just visit this link and try to read(if you know how to read^_^)
I know that the guy's accent is epic but if you focus on the features of the product itself and try not to laugh at how the guys speaks, I guess you'll see how nokia will be able to get the chance of winning this one..
Kalun, 27 Feb 2012I understand your point here. You can read my previous comment. But some fanboy doesn't even ... moreWho said Nokia 808 Pureview competes with the DSLR ? It competes with the rest of the CAMERAphones. And are you always carrying away the DSLR and objectives ? in a pocket ? or in a a backpack ? or hanging it in the neck ? Sorry for my english, is not my native language
Anonymous, 28 Feb 2012let me tell u about WEAK OS
1.It requires dual cores at 1ghz each to RUN or Process HD games ... moreOh yes, let me add to the WEAK OS.
- It cant run on different CPUs, fails miserably when changed.
- Has NO or Minimal GPU, because other GPUs aren't compatible
- Cannot handle screen of higher resolution.
- Cannot utilize higher CPU/RAM, you add more Mhz of CPU or more MB of RAM, practically useless because it wont recognize.
Display is even worse then n8 .only with a good camera is not enough to be a top smartphone.nokia should stay to the low level like nokia 500
wow. amazing chromatic aberration control!!! for such fat sensor. that explains why symbian phone might need 1,5 GHz cpu.
Since 1987 Baby !!....
NOKIA is still on TOP !
and i'm PROUD to having been using it ever since ..
With (NOKIA) ,, it's not about having the coolest (mobile) in the Neighborhood ,, nor bragging! With it in front of your friends.......
It's simply about : (( Falling in LOVE with it ,, and facing the Whole World with it )) .
let me tell u about WEAK OS
1.It requires dual cores at 1ghz each to RUN or Process HD games or play Video Games
2.You have to charge the phone 4x times at Day to be able to experience its goodness
3.it needs higher RAM since low mount will force close running apps.
