I heard of the UFS flash memory card from Samsung 4 years ago but it was never launched, even now you can only find the hybrid card slots on some of their laptops. Even Huawei has their own memory storage card of much slower performance & incompatible with all other devices....

In case of there is something wrong with my phone and probably needed a soft or hard reset or even a complete reformat when installing custom ROM, my files is still safely available in the SD card.
agentlotek, 10 Sep 2019https://www.samsung.com/us/computing/memory-storage/memory-cards/mb-fa256g-am-mb-fa256g-am/Nice find, but that is very recent. I have been checking about every 8 months or so since Samung originally announced the cards in 2016 to see if they had actually made them available to buy. You can tell how recently that page must be from the fact that even the Note 10+ doesn't have a UFS card slot.

Update the software in all phones so that it can read any sd card which has a card slot.

The only excuse left is that it is harder to make watertight.
Most phone maker start to removing memory slot in their flagship line up, no wonder this tech got ignored. Even regular note10 doesnt have it anymore.

rakeshvijay, 10 Sep 2019So atleast SD cards aren't going away from phones yet..... Yes totally agree
Bu here is the thing, these speeds benefit larger capacity, as it would not even be perceptible if the file size is say 30Mb
The thing I can't marry up is the 5G angle.
The download time for a movie being touted using 5G destroys the 4G speed
If the phone doesn't have UFS microSD and whatever mmc, installed
Current storage will be eclipsed by 5G this means more Ram

Also this piece of the article "Samsung, which helped introduce the new standard and designed a hybrid slot, doesnÂ’t have any phones that support them any more." confused me cause I never saw a Samsung with a hybrid slot.
YESSS!!!! I've been waiting so long for these cards to arrive. Seriously, when are manufacturers gonna get these cards in their device? 500MB/s read and 200MB/s write? Just ditch the micro SD slot, and add a UFS slot right there. Triple slots with dual sim and one UFS slot is exactly what we need. They should start at 256 and go to 1TB. Hopefully in 3 years, there'd be more than 2TB micro UFS cards.
