i dont know why you guys are making a big uproar on old devices not getting update.nokia had spend a lot of time tweaking belle to support old hardware.and nokia is not exactly giving upon old devices they have confirmed some features will come to old devices.
Lets check the case of samsung they are giving ics update to only dualcore phones.android gives a support of only one year.sometimes not even that.

The software update is possible. But how is possible to upgrade hardware through software that 1 to 1.3ghz? no way to increase as per my knowledge.
If any technical person read this, please kindly reply. It's possible to update hardware through software or not?

Why apple managed to supp... morehahaha .. you talk as like a child, do not compare belle with the IOS, this is different .. I think you do not know when it's updating(means iphone 3gs) your phone to ios5 will make your phone is running very slow .. try to think logically, if nokia n8 get this update will make your phone slow, that's why nokia did not plan the updating to all nokia phone that have been using the belle system, .Nokia has thinking the risk before making an update to their phone.

It's this thing with us ((Human beings)) , which is Pretty damn weird ....so if I was from planet Mars, I Would "shoot my self"....
Meaning : If this FP1 update came out now for all Belle devices , including the 1st generation ,,, then after only one week Another Major update was announced for the (701 ,700,603 ) , we're still gonna complain like Nagging wives ......

This is "Feature Pack 1", not Symbian Carla. It's designed specifically for the 1GHZ Broadcom Chip

why don't mobile companies create a fanbase group that handles updates for devices that the company has given up support? or anyone who has indept knowledge on mobile software to do that by getting other techie guys and gals online and work up something...just to keep the old legacy.

Got SGS way back 2010 but not able to update due to network restrictions. Got N8 the same year and able to update to Anna then Belle. Who has better update support?

in the end, its business that is important..old devices die, new devices sales pick up.. fan service wont help them survive this vicious battle in the mobile world.
on another note, how far can we overclock the cpus in those belle family..lets find out!! hahahahhaha

Why apple managed to support iphone3Gs(680Mhz,256Ram,,same as N8!!)with the most advanced mobile OS in the world(ios5),while stupid nokia can't support us with simple belle FP1 update!! I'm not nokia fan boy any more, thumbs up for iphones & Androids.

AnonD-843, 01 Mar 2012the oroginal clock speed of N8's processor is 772 Mhz but which is rather downclocked to 680 M... moreif what we think was possible ....WORLD would be a different place bro....if somehow they give d update to N8....& it becomes clumpsy & laggy .... u wud bash NOKIA dat they didnt optimised it & so on.....those r engineers & real people who knw what will wrk on what.....they did a gr8 job by opmitizing 680mhz N8 for BELLE....PLS dont expect more....U jus need to stop crying alwayz , u cant get every thing what u want in a LIFEtime ;)

Here Nokia goes again with the FP1 silliness.
THey completely destroyed S60V3 with FPs fragmentation and they will do thw same with the rest of what is Belle.
The sooner the Symbian dies the better
