ILoveSmartphones, 19 Sep 2019gimmick cameras. there is no way you can put a 40 mp sensor in a 8.8mm body frame. this a 12mp... moreRight.... so you have no idea then. Do you know how quickly a lie such as one like that about the sensor size and resolution would be discovered and destroy their reputation?????

Dealler, 19 Sep 2019I was told it will crush the competition. Is this it? LOL. I´ll rather be desperate clou... moreIt does. Iphones soc is ac little faster. And iphone and note have little brighter and higher res screen. That's about it.
As an overall package and in camera this leaves most devices behind. It's this or rog phone 2.

Shanti Dope, 19 Sep 2019All these super large sensors, and image quality would remain equal to a Pixel and Galaxy phon... moreMost likely you can't put a 1 inch sensor in a phone unless you want a huge camera bump for the optics like the RX100.
Also you lose the versatility of ultra wide and telephoto.

Thanks to Huawei and Sony, we're closer to coming back to the sensor size Nokia once had with its 808 and 1020 before the miniaturisation ruined all.

Why does everyone have to skimp or compromise somewhere?
Such a camera beast and they limit the zoom. It's a smaller thing to complain but still something.
And QHD would still be nice. It's not like they are more affordable devices. Unless it's dramatically cheaper for the sake of the software issue but i doubt it.
Overall all though phenomenal devices and i can't wait to see that humongous sensor in action. With that ryyb setup, bright aperture, and huge sensor size with ois. Im sure despite all that meaning basically great details it will still be severely over processed on auto mode. But manual mode should finally give something to surpass my legendary Nokia 808. Hopefully. Ois, i believe larger sensor, improved focus tech, brighter lens, better hdr, and more software control.

All these super large sensors, and image quality would remain equal to a Pixel and Galaxy phone.
Instead of two 1/1.7" and 1/1.5" sensors, why not just a proper 1" sensor to do the job? Much simpler and more potential stilln

gimmick cameras. there is no way you can put a 40 mp sensor in a 8.8mm body frame. this a 12mp 0r 16mp sensor that stitches pictures to make them look like a 40mp....thats why apple stays at 12mp camera, samsung stays at 16mp. it takes pure pictures. huawei camera is a laughing stock. no 40mp will ever fit in a 8,8mm frame. what a joke to believe its a actual 40mp camera.

DavidRegalJnr, 19 Sep 2019Like i said the "X" model is all i care about..and both this devices seem a bit underwhelming ... moreThe same for me. I wished a mate 30X because I got a 20X and it's the best phone I ever had. I love big displays and the 20X had everything you could wish: big and great screen, tremendous camera, awesome processor, dual speaker, fast-charging and an insane battery life.
I hoped that that a 30X even better than a 20X would be released, with or without google...it is really disappointing for me.

Dealler, 19 Sep 2019Hideous. Copy every possible feature from the competition = Mate 30. Huafans were laughing at ... moreNah, it's nothing new. Mate 10 has a QHD screen while Mate 10 Pro has FHD. It's been like that for a while and we kinda expect that. 1440p is just a resolution for desperate clouts. It's clear and as Retina as is.
