Guys can we update then GS2 throught Kies..and will it have the Ics UI,or UI will stay the same like in gingerb...reply me plz:-D
Well, I've had my GS2 rooted now for almost a year, and I've run a million different roms on it, settling for MIUI... which basically gives you the power and control of Android, but the user-friendliness of iOS...
Sure it's nice to have new software updates, but after Gingerbread now, there's very little improvement over things... I've tried a few ICS roms and certainly everything is a lot slicker and there are more useful options, etc. BUT like many have said, Touchwiz is easily the ugliest software (but all you need to do is get rid of it by using ADW or LauncherPro or even SPB 3D... all are very good!
I wouldn't get hung up on updates, tbh... it won't do any more when you do get them, they don't make that much different to the overall experience... Enjoy what you have! :)
Then need to buy a new mobile with better hardware and dumb the old one always... -.-
Jelly Bean will have a pink theme and Key Lime Pie alight green theme...Android should have serious updates to lauch a whole new version of Android not just a new colour scheme.
Adomas, 05 Mar 2012yeah no matter how cool the ICS is the touchwiz will make it look terrible. Not just touchwiz, the low screen resolution will also seriously diminish the 4.0 feeling :/
erickch, 05 Mar 2012Key Lime Pie is a rumored name, Google hans't said something about it, Jelly Bean is for table... moreAcually no. Jellybean is for both tablets and phones and will be the succssor to ICS, which in turn is the upgrade path from both GB and Honeycomb. Hence why the Asus Transformer is now getting ICS updates, while the Ssmsung Galaxy S2 will be geting one very soon too.
I've been waiting so long now it's a wonder I've not been receiving pyschopherapy treatment ;-). Well I'm waiting on it for a couple of Google handsets.
I'm hoping the Nexus S turns up soon, so I can try it out in it's native format. As for the Galaxy S II, which is an O2 firmware I imagine I will be pushing daisy's before that arrives ;-).
AnonD-28395, 05 Mar 2012Will galaxy note get it? cuz i'm buyin' a new phone n if note doesn't get it then i'm buyin s2That is a crappy way of making a decision.
erickch, 05 Mar 2012Key Lime Pie is a rumored name, Google hans't said something about it, Jelly Bean is for table... moreUmm no, ICS is Honeycombs successor. You must have missed the memo about ICS being the unifier.
Looks like ANDROID/GOOGLE has to many updates. Something is wrong at GOOGLE they con't decide what good for users. I heard most of the updates has bugs and requires fixing so that means their updates are not really done perfectly.
I would say update once a year will be good, but do it perfectly.
yeah no matter how cool the ICS is the touchwiz will make it look terrible.
ICS is cool but why they dont update buggy SCE camera module. We tiped gsm arena about this but they are ignoring it :/
SG2 User, 05 Mar 2012I am not gonna wait again for a more single hour. I don't need ICS or Jelly Bean or even Key ... moreKey Lime Pie is a rumored name, Google hans't said something about it, Jelly Bean is for tablets, it means Honeycomb's successor. See?
AnonD-146, 05 Mar 2012Ics was buggy on the nexus s, not bcz ics is buggy, its bcz google didnt iron out all the firm... moreI own a I9000, I've tried different ICS based ROMs, and the only bug mentioned in that post I have had is the low transfer speed on mass storage mode, the battery life is better than Gingerbread for me. So maybe some bugs will be present some will not. Nothing's perfect right?
