Panino Manino, 03 Oct 2019You sure didn't understood... You said that it'll make a difference in still objects, that "... moreHumans arent still objects unless they're dead. Even so, even the ones taking the picture aren't still object either so there's that. Do you get my point?
DroidBoye, 03 Oct 2019Is this suppose to be a type of s2pid comment that I am not able to understand? lolYou sure didn't understood...
You said that it'll make a difference in still objects, that "the artifacts" could be from be subject moving... but the subject on that phone wasn't moving so...?
About being stupid, I'll let you think for yourself about this a bit more.
Anonymous, 03 Oct 2019I forgot about how annoying Apple can be, giving made up new names ("deep fusion") for an exis... moreAgain, the new thing is that, yes whilst HDR and image stacking has been reliant on a certain degree of machine learning in the past, this represents the first time that actual dedicated machine learning hardware has been primarily responsible for processing the finished image.
Will it reinvent the wheel, doubtfully. To simply write it off as just HDR by another name though, does not do justice to what is happening behind the scenes.
After all ‘night mode’ on devices like the pixel series is not a million miles in away from the HDR+ it also offers, in terms of process. I didn’t see a lot of ‘it’s just another HDR mode’ complaints on its debut though, actually I saw none.
Looking forward to seeing what the result are like myself, will reserve judgement until then.
Anonymous, 03 Oct 2019I forgot about how annoying Apple can be, giving made up new names ("deep fusion") for an exis... morelol! What HDR makes 12MP into 24? This is a merge process obviously more complicated than usual that includes but is not limited to HDR, they have the freedom to come up with a name for it.
Huawei has an algorithm that yields single-digit improvements in GPU performance, generally it falls within the category of DVFS, but they have to call it "GPU Turbo". How stupid would it be for somebody to fall for that?
Panino Manino, 02 Oct 2019Subject clearly isn't moving there. Is this suppose to be a type of s2pid comment that I am not able to understand? lol
Anonymous, 02 Oct 2019Hahahah you sound so patheticWhy you think itÂ’s pathetic ?
I forgot about how annoying Apple can be, giving made up new names ("deep fusion") for an existing technology (HDR), so that they can then pretend they invented something new. And all of the Apple users will fall for this, because feeling special and different is the main product Apple actually sells.
LG Superfan, 02 Oct 2019And last comment was a jokeGood to know :)
The last Oracle, 02 Oct 2019Deep fusion photography is just reworded HDR. Everybody does it, but Apple just gives it a fan... moreNo wonder you are the last oracle. Hard to keep the business going when you are wrong all the time. Name an Apple product with 720p resolution
Kristo Radion, 02 Oct 2019i think it's not what he meant. Machine learning requires a lot of images for training. So we... moreYou cannot "assume" something is happening without evidence. In reality, there are companies that sell database for AI training. All those CAPTCHA you have to answer feeds the database, not user photos which is protected by privacy laws
AnonD-794992, 02 Oct 2019I dont know are you joking or you are talking about the long exposure in the pro mode. And last comment was a joke
AnonD-794992, 02 Oct 2019I dont know are you joking or you are talking about the long exposure in the pro mode. Deep fusion combines long exposure with several images at different exposures, I was taking about that long exposure
LG Superfan, 02 Oct 2019You call that long?I dont know are you joking or you are talking about the long exposure in the pro mode.
Joshy, 02 Oct 2019Actually youÂ’re wrong! It can only use a very powerful processor and A13 chip.. otherwise the... moreMaybe I'm wrong of course, but the history showed that so many OEM's are keeping the new features only for the new phones, and after the hype settles down thay implement the features to the older predecessors.
I think this new festure also will be released for the older x or xs.
Shui8, 02 Oct 2019So its just a Night Mode enabled on daylight with a fancy name?
Image stacking + long expo... moreIt is, in a word, stacking, but there are countless variations to stacking, of course with varying results, or else Google's Gcam wouldn't be in such a clear lead.
The sample given certainly shows superior detail to regular 12MP, it may even prove superior in detail retention compared to Gcam's night mode used in daylight (needs verification of course), which would definitely put Apple in the front of the pack.
Also AFAIK other night modes don't stack a true long exposure like what this article claims for Apple's, they stack a varying number of exposures, each with the same shutter speed.
Joshy, 02 Oct 2019Actually youÂ’re wrong! It can only use a very powerful processor and A13 chip.. otherwise the... moreThat's clearly false, even if only A13 could do it in real-time, others could do it with lag, which is sometimes acceptable, like how Gcam's ZSL would sometimes crash on other phones, but even without ZSL, HDR+ is still functional, just with many seconds of processing time.
