HOPE MY LETTER to TC Was food for thought
Tim Cook / Apples recent release of the iPhone 11 highlights your quest to the ever “bigger & beautiful is better” mantra may be fraught with peril.
We the public are not convinced.
Neglect of the SE size will be definitely be at your peril.
The evolution of size & specification has nearly reached its zenith the options narrowing dramatically thereafter.
Get back to basics & give us an SE performance enhanced sized phone that tells us you haven’t forgotten these customers.
REMEMBER - you’re customer base started here & progressed to loftier models in subsequent purchase upgrades climbing
the “better than last” ladder incrementally.
Coupled with a base cost more affordable you attract a customer base which grows as they upgrade.
Unaffordability as in the the house/ property market applies equally in consumer product with phones.
An Apple logo on it might not save you eventually.
Exclusivity is not what sells more
of - affordability is what will keep you offering exclusivety.
Let us not throw the baby out with the bath water.
Cheers,

Despite all their revenue and profits, Apple does not want to devote any R&D or expense in developing a compact phone. What's needed is a 4.5-4.7 inch phone within the chassis or slightly bigger of the 5s/SE by stretching the screen to the outer limits. Such half-hearted band-aid attempts at small phones always seem flawed and compromised. This leads customers to go for the bigger phones and then OEMs will say, "Oh, look. Nobody buys a small phone. Let's continue making a 100 shovels between 6.1 and 6.5 inches."
As a business case, it will cost Apple nothing to bung in an A13 into an iPhone 8 and make good money. But it's an opportunity lost at opening (rather re-opening) an entirely new market segment and get back customers who seek quality compact phones and not after-thought compromises.
Would still prefer 4 incher design.
Iphone SE 2 will be perfect if it release in SE body with full screen and iphones 11's specs
Yawn
In short, another "notchless" newer option but with the old but admittedly "gold" SE appeal to go along with the models 8/8+. Yes even for Apple, they know better than to completely discontinue those because they'd lose a significant chunk of their own loyal users who're just disgusted at paying top prices for a notched screen experience.
And Apple being Apple, of course they're not gonna admit it or do mark downs for their latest and greatest iPhones to add up the sales numbers. So no other alt but to add another model to cover the so called lower price points.
They would have millions of iPhone lying around nice way to sell it.
This is good and well but I wonder wether those SE phones are made with cheap materials. The aluminium shell was surely cheaper than the one used on the iPhone 5 and 5s. Because the SE I bought a few years ago died on me without warning. The only iPhone to have done so. May be a coincidence.
The people from Apple should work on something new than not just refreshing the older models with new chipsets .
To go in particular with the current speculation Apple can easily go with a bezel less display and go with a 5 inch screen instead of a 4.7 on the same body and provide the same camera from the 11
That will be a dream and I was about to buy an iPhone due the size.
If the price is still the same at 449 or even 399 like original SE with A13 chipset, and iPhone 11 camera, this would be lit. Idc about HD or not as long as it's still iPhone 8 screen.
Keep the stereo speaker, IP67, etc as iPhone 8 had.
Trade 3D touch with bigger battery.
Apple: Our customers are leaving our ecosystem since we discontinued the fingerprint scanner
Customers: So you admit that was an unwise decision and reintroducing its next variant
Apple: Nope, we'll just hook those customers with a downgraded model instead
Customers: Just put the fingerprint scanner inside the Apple logo
Apple: That's impossible. Both Tim Cook and Jony Ive know FaceID is the only way
Customers: What in the f...?!??
Anonymous, 04 Oct 2019This makes a lot of sense if you think about it. The 5S was introduced in 2013 and then 3 year... moreIdk. I mean, the SE was loved not just for its size, but shape as well. They should make an SE that just a bit bigger and more ergonomic with a modern design on the front
I don't care for Apple really, but iPhone SE always was intriguing, especially now since compact phones are disappearing and some companies have never produced them to begin with.
Kinda interested.
Hope It should be full screen then it will have high sales, screen should not be like iphone 8
This makes a lot of sense if you think about it. The 5S was introduced in 2013 and then 3 years later in 2016, Apple releases a revamped version, the iPhone SE. Same with the iPhone 8 from 2017. 3 years later in 2020 there's (rumored) to be revamped version of the 8, called the (new) iPhone... SE? 8s? Classic, perhaps? We'll have to wait and see. The familiar design and cheaper price for Apple customers will also be a huge selling point too.
Good way to recycle the materials from the old chassis and the design also:)
