The problem is with samsung alone or with all other brands such as vivo or oppo which has over the screen fingerprint scanners?
yesterday i had just bought 2 Samsung galaxy note 10 plus for me and my brother...
and today we saw this video.... feeling like >_<
i wish these companies all of them either its samsung apple or google or microsoft start focusing on bug free product rather than introducing unfinished products in a market such these...
its very common now and we get such kind of news from every big name... if its not samsung than apple.. and if not both than nokia or huawei.... I mean we want something reliable not full of bugs for God sake... !!!
we are paying f*** 1000s of dollers for these phones no 10s >_<
To improve speed on the slow and unreliable reader Samsung reduced the accuracy requirement so anything finger like is taken as a match
I own note 10 and I don’t really care lol. Who will steal or spy on someone like me lmao, people please stop acting concerned nobody gives a F about you data guys.
Shanti Dope, 21 Oct 2019I don't get why they have to move the scanner to the more complicated areas. Having it conven... moreRear fingerprint scanners aren't really the conventional way, they always used to be on the front until everyone started trying to find workarounds for a bezelless screen. Front or side positions feel a lot more natural and easy to reach, it's just that the new way of doing front scanners is still pretty far behind the old style.
Then don't use screen protectors
I can't understand how added layer just dismisses the pattern. How the F are they matching things internally then? How the hell can a transparent layer fool the scanner into thinking it's scanning a correct fingerprint that matches with the stored one? You'd assume any distortion would make it difficult to register, not the exact absolute opposite where it just thinks it matched.
Also, Idk about anyone else here, but I'm far more impressed with "Oh it's so secured" than "Oh it looks cool and futuristic!"
I don't get why they have to move the scanner to the more complicated areas.
Having it conventionally on the back allows it to work faster, more secured, cheaper, easier to fix/replace, and just far more convenient overall.
Nobody complained about its rightful placement at the back, why change it?
Rather than pushing this nonsense joke, why not focus on doing an under-display front camera instead?
Or maybe a much better screen speaker.
Obviously we are paying $800 for a feature we never really asked for.

I can read someone's PIN without the least difficulty. Fingerprint readers are much, much more secure when paying for something, logging in to your bank account and so on.
Is this true for all underdisplay finger print readers then or just samsung?
Seems this is exactly the reason why other brands aren't using this Ultrasonic tech in their products

Oh wow, it takes 1 second... moreIt is not about using the PIN or whether it is an inconvenience. The fact remains that we, the consumers, pay for this feature.
For a phone that costs $1000 and claims to have a UD ultrasonic fp scanner, why would I use PIN? Or, why would I pay $1000 for a phone that does not even have a decent fingerprint scanner?
Was there ever anything wrong with the iris scanner ?

Washabbi, 21 Oct 2019You did read that the snapdragon variants are unknown to have this problem. This maybe just an... more" we are yet to see if the Snapdragon" yet to see=has not been tested,
it doesn't say it's not prone
YUKI93, 21 Oct 2019Oh well, the good old PIN and Pattern lock is still the best. Iris scanner is still a neat fea... moreMy Note 9 has it and it works with glasses as well. Not sure how secure that is. Now a days securing the devices without worrying about privacy is a joke. No one is interested in our devices for what we do, unless there are illegal stuff in the mobile..
See how easily this guy login to the phone with even an unregistered finger print made me believe that my note 10 plus is a faulty unit... I can't even properly login to my note 10 plus with registered finger print, it keeps giving me the "not match" error message, which kinda annoying. I have a tempered glass screen protector applied on the phone btw.
