The larger the better, with high resolutions, scratch resistance and it must fit comfortably in my hands and also inside my pocket.
T Oh again you are doing it for Apple. Soon iPhone 5 will come with 4 inch plus screen and you will start saying Apple did it again.
Some time ago I read an article in your site telling 3.5 is the best size, now you are changing it to 4 to 4.5. Please stop these, otherwise you will loose millions of visitors to tour sitr
I think 4.65 inches would be a perfect size, even galaxy s3 will have the same size
I am not a girl, but I think 3.5" is the perfect screen size - pocket friendly but not so small that text is unreadable. Also, smaller screen have better ppi.
3 months back i went to buy a smartphone for my wife, my wife preferred a larger screen...i have 2 choices...htc sensation xl or samsung galaxy note. i showed her both and naturally she opted for Note! its not that much normal for women to go for that much larger screens but its not uncommon here as well. i think 5.3 inches of hd screen was a sweet spot for her even 3 months back and its practically very very easy to handle Note because of thin profile and lightweight!

The study is for UK and US, mostly on Caucasians or Africans. they have a bigger built compared to Asians so im guessing it is right for them 4-4.5 but if your less than 6 feet in height 3.5-4 would be ideal. i am 5'8 and im using a n8 with 3.5 screen.... tried the HTC Sensation and it was too big for my taste. so 4" would be the right fit for my hand.
For be de optiml size is between 3.7 and 4.3. The best screen size i think it would be 4 inch.
I have 4.3" Sensation But My Ideal Range On Screen Size Is 3.7" - 4.0".
The thinnest possible bezel/edge or none at all would make a big difference, there's still a lot of "wasted" space on fronts. I'd prefer having a home button on the side and having a bigger screen instead, or a smaller phone with the same size screen.
though this is quite off topic i just want too share my sentiment on what i like on a phone particularly in OS. I love android the only problem is the battery hope android phones focus on the battery a very good battery please that we can use and maximize the potentials of the phones such as brightness :)))))
Anonymous, 15 Mar 2012if you text with one hand on galaxy note, you must be a basketball player, or very rich in you... moreThe software update has formatted the Note's keypad to be smaller to one side to accommodate left or right-handed one-handed texting.
the Galaxy Note screen is perfect for me. 5.3 inches.bigger than that i think is too big for my pocket.ill say 5.3 is perfect for browing, video streaming, and most of all if ur a gamer :)
I feel everything above 3.5" (and even that!) is just too damn big, and i practically blame Apple for this disaster. Before they came out with iPhone, the phones were getting smaller and smaller and now it's like a competition to see what will finally not get inside your pocket...
One of the main reasons i'm sticking to my 3.4" 3G Slide, is the new screen sizes are just too big! it doesn't feel good in the hand, and almost unusable in a single hand...
4.3"-4.7" I guess as long as it stays in a SGS2 size like body. People who are syaing that 4" is the perfect size definitely hasn't tried or used a 4.3" for let's say a month or so, well unless the person is a woman with small hands.
4.2 is the best xperia arcs dimentions in my opinion "DIMENTIONS" i don't wanna talk about anything cause im not a fan boy but it really feels good in the hands promise
For me its all about the width of the phone. As long as its less than 64mm wide, I will consider it because I will be able to use it with one hand. I have an LG Optimus Black which is 64mm and has a 4" display. Before that I bought an Xperia arc which incredibly managed to fit a 4.2" display in a 63mm wide chassis. Now I will consider the Xperia P because it fits a 4" display in just 59mm width - thats as much the the 3.5" display wielding iPhone!
