Little bit of mechanics will exclude this non sense of multiple camera's. A single larger sensor is better than installing multiple sensors for each camera.

For example, none of them (even Sony's) have dual-pixel AF. They basically "slower" to focus compared to, for example, IMX363. Also none of them has in-sensor DRAM which limits their capability for TRUE super slo-mo videos. They're also poor on how many image they can stack (for whatever reason like enhanced HDR) because they have their own processing needed to interpret during binning and full pixel matrix rearrangement.
Yronk, 04 Nov 2019its not multiple camera but multiple lenses in camera...just like the lenses u have to buy whe... moreNope. The sensors are different for each lens set. So it is a different camera. Its not a situation where the light rays from all the lenses go to one single sensor.
Yes we could have interchangeable lenses like in DSLRs or mirrorless cameras. But the way companies are increasing the cameras is again......stupid. Plain stupid.

You could have an optical zoom lens that covers about almost everything. Huawei has done it in one of its phones.

Not a good solution. I dont mind companies increasing the phone thickness a bit and incorporating a prism design in which the lens assembly is housed parallel to the phone allowing for optical zoom features like in normal cameras.
And this is a tech that exists. Will make phones better.
CptPower, 02 Nov 2019Well maybe the samsung is still number 1 in sales xiaomi is more innovative and better quality... morexiaomi has been collaborating with samsung on that 108 mp camera sensor btw and it mainly belongs to samsung but for unknown reasons samsung just don't try new features or hardware on its flagships
Well maybe the samsung is still number 1 in sales xiaomi is more innovative and better quality at lower price.
icatalin32, 01 Nov 2019i've have many xiaomi phones and I think this brand is better quality than other top brands. T... moreExactly.
Samsung, Sony, LG, HTC, Apple just toying on the childs ground playing sand castle.
Will those 5mp, 2mp modules use information from other camera modules to produce a more detailed picture? Or are we going backwards in time to crap cameras in mobile phones (by today's standards)?
Oneplus loled, 01 Nov 2019I'm pretty sure xiaomi added dedicated image processor and DRAM on the camera modules. 730G's ... moreOkay, but imagine an upper mid range phone having a far more powerful DSP than a proper flagship phone (Mi 9/K20 Pro).
sohail shafayat, 01 Nov 2019More mega pixel doesn't mean more details, stop lyingRight, 12MP sensor is capable of resolving more details than 27MP one, because that's how mathematics work.
Anonymous, 02 Nov 2019You know its for marketing in the end. let me guess, is there even no OIS right?Xiaomi literally said in the teaser that the phone will feature dual OIS.
[deleted post]What hkchew03 said is clearly true, what's funny about it?

sohail shafayat, 01 Nov 2019I don't agree, Xiaomi is advertising 108MP and in 108/64/48MP mode the image quality is terrib... morePixel binning helps for the higher dynamic range and SNR (which in turn might help capturing more details in low light), but does NOT increase the brightness/exposure of the image. In pixel binned mode this 108MP sensor would produce far superiour RAW image compared to small 1/2.55" sensors used on flagships from more premium companies. It's significantly larger hence capable of capturing more light, and usually the larger the sensor the better the RAW image quality.
