Glad to see they use a Triple-Camera setup for the vanilla OP8.
The OP7 lags behind Mi 9 and K20 Pro for being a "Value For Money", just because it lacks telephoto and ultrawide cameras.
And I hope that OP8 to have the same price of OP7.
I always wanted to buy an OnePlus phone instead of Xiaomi, but they always cost more and lack some features... Just like how OP7 campares to Mi 9.
Anonymous, 08 Nov 201990Hz display is stupid, I couldn't see any difference on a 7 Pro compared to say a Mate 20 Pro... moreYea I agree, I've got a 120hz ipad Pro and I can't tell the difference from my 60hz phone, and I tried a 7 Pro in store and couldn't tell the difference, imo it isn't worth the battery life
marv, 08 Nov 2019Well on PC monitor there's clear difference between 90 and 120Hz so i suppose the same will be... moreValid point. I would love to try 120 Hz display now.

I've used my friend's 7 Pro and man I'm telling you, it really does make a difference. Now whenever I'm using my 6, I crave for that higher refresh rate.
It'll be a bit more differentiation between the 8 and the 8 Pro.
Anonymous, 08 Nov 2019OnePlus feeling the heat since ROG has pretty much schooled OnePlus at their own game. LOL, no one over 18 years old cares about the ROG phones.
123, 08 Nov 2019but no worry, 1300 eur Iphone still has 60hz :)60Hz refresh rate, 120Hz input rate. That'll still feel some bit smoother than regular 60Hz refresh & input rates.
Besides, not many contents are available to utilize such display, so why bother being too early and experience the feature for almost no content at all?
If you're really smart, then you'll wait for contents in those format to diversify before getting a phone with that refresh & input rate.
On iPads, many games are already optimized to work in 120Hz, which makes that screen even more meaningful to use.
Android phones, on the other hand, could only enjoy the smoothness of 90Hz/120Hz on scrolling feeds and "some" rare games that support those frame rates.
Broken screen, no thanks.
Playing games or watching videos, for me, requires full screen without cutouts in the screen.
Anonymous, 08 Nov 2019OnePlus feeling the heat since ROG has pretty much schooled OnePlus at their own game. In exactly what way?
The OnePlus 7 series have great cameras. From that alone, the ROG already loses the practicality for most smartphone users.
Sure, the ROG got the beastly performance, but that's as if the OnePlus 7 family can't handle games properly....
Pointless. This should wait until SD875 at least.
Touch sampling refresh rate increace to over 160Hz is something worth having.
but no worry, 1300 eur Iphone still has 60hz :)
90Hz display is stupid, I couldn't see any difference on a 7 Pro compared to say a Mate 20 Pro. It's all a bit 'emperor's new clothes' - a BS feature to sell more handsets, pedalled by Youtube influencers.

Of course it's going to drain more battery but you will notice it if you are used to 60Hz displays. 90 Hz to 120 Hz is a bit more controversial. Likewise, no one might notice it if there was a refresh rate bump from 240Hz to 280Hz cos it's already smoother.

The only exception would be if OnePlus give us a high-4000mah or more battery cell.
KadoPT, 08 Nov 2019I'm using a 7t pro (90hz) and its great. I also have a 144hz gaming monitor and when gaming @ ... moreI can see what you're saying and I'd love to try a 120Hz display but as you said 120 FPS content on mobile may take some time I think. Anyways, progress has to start from somewhere.
