YUKI93, 24 Nov 2019"...YOU just need to remove your hate for the P30 just because you had a few bad pictures."
... moreYou are creating the problem that you are complaining about. Why would you or anyone make large prints of pictures from a phone? Not a single phone out there will look decent with 24x36 prints or similar. If you have a dedicated camera, then just use that for prints.
Also not all reviews are paid, some are but it is easy to weed those out and realize that the P30 series was wildly successful for a reason: people loved the cameras. You are wrong on so many things, and there are thousands that have great pictures from the phone. You are an outlier.

I'm sorry, but I frequently use my P30 Pro for various events whether indoor or outdoor. So to say that I have a few bad pictures is so wrong is so many way!
"...why stress over minor differences on 300x zoomed in photos on your monitor between two phones"...
Yes, I do stress that because of prints. I do print pictures I shot as my home's wallpaper not only just from the P30, but also from other flagship phones that I have. So I'm not talking rubbish!
"...when everyone else using it and reviewing it have phenomenal pictures."
Oh please, you can always say good things when you got paid by the company.
"You just sound completely obsessive and manic for trying to find a fault when there is none."
True photographers can always find faults. Sorry.

I mean why stress over minor differences on 300x zoomed in photos on your monitor between two phones then come on here to spew some misinformation on how you THINK the P30 photos are bad, when everyone else using it and reviewing it have phenomenal pictures. You just sound completely obsessive and manic for trying to find a fault when there is none.

Compare the images from those phones on a monitor, and there is HUGE difference between the two when zoomed in at full res. If you really cannot see the difference, then you might need your eyes checked.

I only use man... moreWell good for you but it's definitely not an overhyped phone and takes some of the best pictures around for a smartphone. There's a reason people have been praising it since it launched. I bet the Mate 30 Pro does take better pictures but I highly doubt it is that much different than the P30 Pro. If you think for a second any Sony phone even comes close to Huawei's image quality then you haven't compared them properly at all. I do think the Lumia has some charming looking photos straight from the camera but the moment you aren't in superb lighting conditions, the image falls apart quickly with massive amounts of noise and color processing artifacts. The software is too out of date to compete with even most midrangers today, let alone a flapship like the P30.

Oh please, I have a Sony mirrorless camera with a 18-105 mm lens. I only use manual setting for crying out loud! No point-and-shoot Auto mode for me. I would always pixel peep those pics especially when zoomed in at full res, that's the only way I can see any post-processing flaw.
Even my old Nokia Lumia 1020, which I still have to this day, takes miles better photos than the P30 Pro. The same with my Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium, especially in Manual HDR mode. Now that I have already compared the camera between the P30 Pro and the Mate 30 Pro, I'm definitely buying the Mate 30 Pro - miles far better quality despite a little hint of oversharpening, which didn't really that noticeable.
Sorry mate, the P30 Pro is just way overhyped and too overrated. Sold mine ages ago and not regretting it a single inch.

Pick up a used DSLR or a cheap dedicated mirrorless camera to increase your skills a bit then go back to smartphone photography . You'll see the difference in image quality will be immensely better just from learning how to shoot photos properly. Photos from my non-Pro P30 looks great on a 13.5in laptop screen and a 65in TV.
Well, what can i say? This happens when AI instead of HI (human inteligence) is used to take a picture.
That's exactly the reason why a smartphone camera with AUTO-ONLY photo and video controls like the PIXEL phones is a stupid idea.
Manual ISO, manual shutter speed, manual white balance and manual focus should ALL be available in the default camera app of the Pixel phones. To remove them simply because dumb people tend to mess them up and don't know how to revert them to the correct settings is never be a valid excuse.
No amount of computational photography or artificial intelligence will account for all types of photographic situations. Fireworks photos and videos? You need manual focus and manual exposure lock for that if you don't want the camera focus hunting back and forth--- resulting in clear-blurred-clear-blurred videos. Manual exposure lock is needed so you don't have the photo/video footage ending up as a mix of alternating over exposed photos/videos and underexposed photos/videos. Manual ISO and manual shutter speed so you can control the noise level and motion blur. Manual white balance so strong subject or strong ambient colors don't get messed up!
YUKI93, 12 Nov 2019Good? I thought of the same... until I use the pic from the P30 Pro as my PC monitor's wallpap... moreYeah! I really kinda sucks tho. specially when you are using samsung SJ55W monitor and greater. But I apparently appreciate their photos outdoor than the Note 10 which reminds me of the painting photos from p20 pro. I kinda prefer the shots taken by pixel 4 or Iphone 11 as screensaver.
This thing wont sell until the prices drop
ishreal, 12 Nov 2019P30 is good, you're just a haterGood? I thought of the same... until I use the pic from the P30 Pro as my PC monitor's wallpaper. It SUCKS in so many level, the waterpainting-like oversharpening was laughably bad! Ended up selling it.
"The issue seems to be down to the new machine learning based auto white balance algorithm that Google introduced with the Pixel 4, which instead of processing the image the way it is tries to correct it to what it should be."
Precisely the reason why I NEVER trust smartphone computational photography. Call me old school, but I definitely prefer smartphones like the Nokia Lumia 1020 or Nokia 808 PureView or even the Nokia N8 where the hardware do the job instead of software algorithm.

Did they fixed the insane amount of noise in mid lit to low light scenarios? focus on that, iPhone 11 kills the pixel currently.
such a overrated phone. they gave half an hour presentation saying their white balance is best and it still needs correction.... useless phone that lives on updates for life fixing things in every update. unstable at its best.
Just an underrated phone. Shame, really, even the 'great' cameras are not great. Stupid pricing makes iPhone and its better Android competitors shine on top of the chart (except P30)
Lulz, what update ?
Yonef, 11 Nov 2019Google should cancel Pixel program and go back doing Nexus devices - cheap, clean android, not... moreThis is why there are Android One devices.
You can get phones from Xiaomi, Motorola, HMD, ZTE Axon, BQ etc .....
