For Europeans, we have to support our products as well as our jobs. Globalization YES .... BUT!!!!
James Hunt, 22 Mar 2012 Hey u ! Nokia is already the greatest mobile company , by a large margin ! 15 yrs of hands do... moreIn terms ofmarket share yes, but in terms of profit i dont think so. For your information 91% of mobile phone profit came from apple and samsung. Profits % is the real measurement of success not market share.

Nokia will ev... moreHTC has no money to buy Nokia. they are only small cell phone company in Taiwan. also Nokia is doing great with Microsoft. for my opinion Windows phone 7 works so much better then iOS or Android.
dismissing their staffs also means dismissing the innovation or ideas does people had, of which is not going to favor them...so let them tell us the truth that they cannot afford to pay their workers due to their losses.....Nokia was a good company with good products in terms of hardware but their software and its upgrades are not satisfying, their problems are concerned with the operating system which is very boring, no interesting apps
Nokia is going wrong(or maybe that's the point so Elop could sell it to Microsoft) and this isn't any good.
Shutting down European production lines including more than 50% ones from Finland and moving to Asia is the worst decision could be ever taken after Meego subit death.
When you speak quality and Nokia you speak about Finland + Nokia and if that many people bought Apple products(not all of them are fanboys, some look at the quality too) many people could pay a bit more for a quality Nokia product. So, reducing the costs is not an sustainable argument.
symbian os is dying just move on android and nokia will destroy all phones who stand on the way !!
The Man, 22 Mar 2012Nokia fails in field of:
-CPU ~ Most important
-GPU ~ Most important
-RAM ~ Most important ... moreFunny that. N900. The most awesome phone I've ever met. Subpar specwise, but delivered.
E7. Subpar yet again specwise but the damn thing just works.
5530. Ludicruos specs, yet it worked. Funny.

Start making android phones with Tegra powered GPU. U will be good to go then.
Apple or HTC... will you please buy Nokia? They are so messed up with Microsoft. Nokia will eventually die but when is the biggest question.. hopefully sooner the better.
I have different phones made by different companies and as for as hardware is concerned, Nokia is the best! I love their hardware and design.
Lumia 800 is super....
I wish a good luck for Nokia
I was thinking of being unsupportive with Nokia since they ticked every checkbox to the their demise, but firing qualified workers makes it even easier to pull the plug.
It's much easier to move away from a company with no real ethics.
As a Finn I'm a bit biased to comment but its quite a big loss to all Finns in such a small country like Finland.
In Nokia's case I agree that Nokia really has fallen behind their competitor's with their phones during last 3-4 years but I don't think that many people understand that (IMHO) the only thing that "sucks" about Symbian is just the user interface. It's not a bad OS, it's just a bit trickier to code/program but it seems to be way more efficient than Android for example. I have bought a Galaxy Note few months ago and while it's a nice phone, I'm really disappointed how slow and buggy the OS/phone is. With 1.4Ghz dual-core processor I'd expect it to be a lot faster than now and I would like actually work. I thought Nokia Suite was bad but Samsung Kies is way worse.
When it comes to Nokia as a company I think Nokia's bosses and engineers became way too cocky due their success and just lacked their "drive" to keep improving continuously.
When it comes to their co-operations with Microsoft I really think it was the right thing to do as there seems to be 13 manufacturer in a dozen using android and w/Microsoft Nokia doesn't need to use huge amount of resources to build their own app store and they can combine marketing/strategy operations to some extent.
that its unfair. we all know nokia is having problems, but firing up the people from your own country is not ok. nokia should start to sell the perspective that their phones are beetter quality because they are built in finland, not in china.
Nokia is walking the green mile right now if they dont come up with something they might as well close it all now...Cuz I read symbinan is dead an gone...Windows mobile will not have even 10% of the impact they would like to have windows mobile sucks atm...iOS and android are way in front as plaforms ...Meegoo is good not excelent but good I tested one in vodafone store for a few min liked it but got to say I would have never payed for it 450euros++ free of contract when an s2 has same price and iphone has like 100euros +...As far as some ppl say from loyalti yeah ppl like the brand but this is going to die and there is gonna be only those who are useing phones for calls and text who are going to buy this creapy phones from nokia low cost phones...Take action or start diging your choice
Shame to Nokia management! It is mistake to lay off local people and hire someone in other country, at the end it will heart local economy.
