Baykko, 13 Nov 2019Is this the most powerful laptop released? are MacBook's generally the most powerful? Because ... moreRX 5500 is a tad faster than RX 590 so the slightly downclocked 5500M should be a bit faster than the desktop RX 580 at a significantly lower power draw.

So technically not because there are are RTX 2070, 2080 laptops but the 16" MacBook Pro will likely be the fastest laptop that isn't extremely bulky and doesn't scream "look at me and my 1000x RGB LEDs! I am a gamer".

But at the same time yeah because it's the fastest laptop that doesn't look like a Christmas tree, is relatively portable and has a decent battery life.

ProJames-CHM, 13 Nov 2019I hope the thermals are good on this. Octacore 9th gen Intels at 5GHz aren't exactly ultra low... moreThe base clock is 2.4Ghz.
Sustained 3.5 is too optimistic while 3.0 is more realistic tbh.

Baykko, 13 Nov 2019Is this the most powerful laptop released? are MacBook's generally the most powerful? Because ... moreIts not the most powerful. But its the most flexible in a nice durable design. And with money, no compromises specs, all the storage and ram you need.

It runs all x86 OS out there, macos, windows, linux, android, chromeos. Favored by developers. Some of the world best calibrated screens for graphics designers.

However, thats for pro users.

In recent years, the rise of the influence non-pro, ipad loving Millennial tainted this great laptop. Practical things like function keys, give way to touchbar low profile keys. OS support for emojii and accented keys broke default settings pro users use.. but good news all these can be reverted using terminal commands. Apple is moving back to the pro users slowly.. because those are the one paying. Not some starbucks showoff who just buy a coffee and sit there the whole day.

Is this the most powerful laptop released? are MacBook's generally the most powerful? Because that seems to be the general idea and why every high status person seems to have one.

Now I just wish the company I work for would give us these instead of the crappy Windows stuff they keep shoving down our throats.

- iphone with proper battery life and cameras
-true modular Mac Pro, not that trash can that was design over function and sold to its PRO customers

I hope the thermals are good on this. Octacore 9th gen Intels at 5GHz aren't exactly ultra low voltage. Would be a shame that those who splurge extra on it get throttled back to 3.5GHz
