The Razr series never had any high end specs to begin with, it was more stylish than anything so stop with that "low end CPU" nonsense. The main problem here is the excessive retail price, it should be $1000 tops.

I speaking about scratching tests on screen.
Samsung galaxy fold died on nail hope this Razr survivves as much as other cellphones which scratches at lv6.
Why do you still messing with bending i dont care about bending omg.

Why old midrange sd710 with high price as 1500 $. They should use more power efficiency and better as sd 730 with this small battery

THE-TRUTH-REVEALER, 14 Nov 2019Good for die-hard razr fans, but charging anything over $1100 for this phone is a bad idea. ... moreIt's subjective of course, but for me, this is much cooler than the galaxy fold.

Klip1tyklop, 14 Nov 2019They spend so much money to develop this phone and they find it good to come with not even top... morePrevious article suggests mid-range soc is to increase battery life. Battery capacity is limited by the form-factor.

No excuse for the 5MP selfie cam though.

Why is the notch a surprise if the Galaxy Fold has one and is way uglier?

The phone looks beautiful but with that battery they must assume people are rarely ever gonna unfold it.

6.2 inch phones are already pocket-able so I don't see the benefit at this cost except the cool factor. The Fold offers more screen for more content and there is much that will be improved on the fold to make it more pocket-able, durable and usable while folded. This will only be a phone that folds into a smaller package.

It looks good though and it doesn't seem to have a crease at all so this is good for foldable technology in general.

I have no use for this, cannot really see the point, but at least it looks like Lenovo/Moto did the hinge right. I was actually surprised when it came out that the Galaxy Fold did not forestall crease issues with a screen routing design similar to this.

EskeRahn, 14 Nov 2019Yeah, it looks like the 'right' way to do it with the limitations in known technology. I no... moreThat's something I noticed in the MKBHD vid. I think that's a good use of a big chin to have a hidden mechanism to do so.

Verizon exclusive? Does it mean it won't launch outside the USA?

MdN8, 14 Nov 2019They did a good job with engineering of the folding point of the display, it folds into a loop... moreYeah, it looks like the 'right' way to do it with the limitations in known technology.

I noticed in some of the earlier drawing of this, that a spring might be keeping the display stretched. (fig 14) https://www.gsmarena.com/foldable_phone_drawings_spotted_in_a_motorola_hardware_patent-news-32901.php
It sound like a clever way of achieving this, if it does not shorten the life span of the display foil to be pulled repeatedly. And hopefully the movement by this spring is absorbed in the hinge part, so the screen is firmly (and dust-tight) attached to the two halves.

Why picka year-old SOC? It seems all the budget went through R&D. They even decided to use a lousy battery without fast charging!? Just like the original RAZRs. Nowdays all the Chinese manufacturers has the upperhand with the hardware specs with the very competetive price point. At this point if the IP of the screen's tech is not registered to Motorola (Lenovo), it's just a matter of time before co. like XIaomi, Oppo or Vivo will release a leak of a better version of motorola's RAZR.

They did a good job with engineering of the folding point of the display, it folds into a loop instead of a hard crease. Should be more durable than something that just closes like a book, but let's wait for some real life tests.

Anonymous, 14 Nov 2019At least they should added a good camera with OIS and no a peace of crap one in this overprice... moreThe problem is that a better camera is huger (relatively speaking), due to pure physics, and the current already protrudes destroying the otherwise sleek design.
IMHO they should have put the camera in the thick part, that would have allowed for a better camera. Though of course unusual to have at the bottom when held with speaker up, it would have been preferable, as the natural way to hold a camera is in landscape anyway.

I am speaking about scratch tests and you still about bend tests.
I dont care about bend tests on this phone because i am not going to use it other way.
But would like to know if the main screen is more durable than Galaxy fold.

At least they should added a good camera with OIS and no a peace of crap one in this overpriced phone. Can't they spend part of those $1500 in a good sensor at least? The battery should be removable being as tiny but it's not. They even not used a better SoC, a 730G at least. The 710 is too low for that display size and price too.

Don't worth the money even if it has a unique old design.
