XZ2 Pr... moreXperia 1 prices are already down to 650 if you buy it online from unofficial channels. It's a no brainer if you are ok with a big phone. XZ2 Premium on the other hand is kind of unicorn, very hard to find and prices vary a lot. XZ2 is now about 300 and XZ2 Compact is 350, both are steals if you ask me. XZ3 is I guess the most popular model cause its still costs around 600 especially if you want that lavishing green or burgundy color, for the price of XZ3 I would go with Xperia 1 instead. Or wait about four months and get Xperia 5 for 500 or less. Xperia 5 is one I would buy but not for 680 which is it's current price

Apple already did it with the 11 Pro Max, and surely enough Sony would as well.
They adopted to triple camera setup and bezel less trend, and I'm sure they'd do the same thing with large battery devices.
And yes, they could even make a smartphone with screen cutout (I hope they don't!) if it's necessary for their survival.
In 2021, they might even move to 4K HDR 21:9 120Hz OLED screen if the SoC is capable enough of handling such configuration.

XZ2 Premium gives you true 4K HDR experience and fantastic cameras in low light, while XZ3 gives you an adequately great (but not as high-resolution) screen and great camera (not as impressive in lower lighting conditions though). The XZ3 gives off superior screen contrast and battery life though, and the 18:9 screen ratio might be better for multitasking and future-proofing (as more contents in 18:9 get more popular).
Perhaps the XZ2 Premium's display might last longer (due to the nature of OLEDs having shorter lifespan) but if you don't intend or plan to keep the phone for like more than 5 years or so, then the XZ3 could be a better investment for you.
Personally, I'd go with the XZ3 instead, as the XZ2 Premium is too bulky for daily usage, and I don't really mind not having 4K screen, as long as it's also beyond 1080p already.
OLED is a big selling point for me, especially when it's crafted by Sony - man do they make some eye-fulfilling OLED screens!

Xiami devices gets updates in time same goes for one plus nokia etc.
Motorola maybe not get updates in time ut at least they get 2 major updates and a year of security patches. I can confirm that have X4 moto ad in my store we sold many motorola devices in past.
Same goes for other brands but they all get their respective updates.
XA2 is a last year midranger with its starting price most china made phones are at flagship level with much bigger specs and features than sony could ever give. And thats a fact.
If a 500 eur device cant have updates company like this have no place and space to make phones.
Besides every single device no matter the brand every screw display, motherboard camera etc literrary screaming made in China, made in Taiwan, made in Vietnam,

Mi A1 and A2 with stock android always get android at least 40 days after Xperia flagships.
And as far as I know both do not have android 10 yet.
Did you say Realme? LOL !!!! Except OnePlus, all other BBK are awful with updates, even LG does better.

He/she clearly hasn't even used those phon... moreme too... salary bonus is around the corner... 😁☕☁... i am still deciding between xz2 premium and xz3... i am a bit concerned about curved edge of xz3... one thing i dislike about galaxy flagships along other things... worried also about oled burn ins like that of galaxys... but looking at online comparison xz3 display looks better than xz2 premium... but the latter is hdr anyway, sso im still confused...

Only difference is they are made according to Sony requirements. Like 120Hz and quantum dots for wider gamut.

And if they had any plan to update L series, they would not use mediatek nor ship it with android 8. They should not even make midranges.
No matter brand, there is no good phone released for less than $550.
Midranges with midrange CPU are not good, modranges with flagship cpu are not nog either.
