                            If I interpr the source correctly the ODM phones will mainly be sold in china (regional devices for that specific market) or are entry level devices. So no real need to freak out.

It's an external quality control at the end, that you can't do directly so they only thing you'll watch are the consecuencies when something goes wrong. They can send you working samples and then put whatever shit lenses, etc, in the production. And i don't see Samsung doing optical, visual, chemical and spectrographic analisys to watch what the chinese providers are mounting in every phone. So some worse batches are more than expected with worse components.
