I love the competition, atleast we are beginning to see foldable phones in our generation, very soon we shall be seeing rollable phones as LG promised, the phones are beautiful but i still prefer the Samsung and Huawei appreciate to Motorola's version of foldable phone, they are expensive but with time and advancement in future technology the common man should be able to afford one. By the time iphone launch, it will be too expensive. I hope they are all working on a phone that the will not shatter when it fall down. Just hopping

Somehow the Mate X made its way to Brazil and a few reviewers were showing it off on YouTube in the last week. They praise it all around, specially the hinge which has no gaps for dirt to fill it, but they definitely point out the fact that the screen Is delicate and has to be handled with caution.
The bottleneck of the current production capacity is the screen, which requires a special manufacturing process. There is not much time left to grow the capacity though, since Mate X 2 will be announced in a few month's time, with much improved specs: Kirin990, built-in silo for a pen, Mate30Pro grade camera system with much improved video capability, possibly a new much improved screen.
Huawei has considered foldable screen technology from multiple vendors: BOE, Visionox, also Samsung and LG. Visionox has the best technology. But being a new company, Visionox's manufacturing capacity is still to grow.
According to a Huawei executive, the production capacity of Mate X can eventually reach 100,000 units per month.
Just opinion too, 22 Nov 2019You are right! Their batches sell in mere seconds. Question is, how many units were included... more10000 units was in the flash sale
It is really crazy to see that many "I want to buy Mate X for..." requests at various online exchange, auction sites and various social forums. It seems that you can easily resell it for more than twice of the retail price if you are lucky enough to have one in your hand. There are also plenty of those requests willing to pay 60000CNY (~$9000), 80000CNY ($11000), or even 1000000CNY ($14000). On a social networking website, there was a person regretting selling his unit for merely 48000CNY (~$6800).
Many buyers seem to treat it as a collectible. According to one buyer, "Once I receive it, I will verify the condition and store it away. I will not be using it. In ten year's time, I will most likely donate it to a local Museum and let it be a part of the history."

Question is, how many units were included in such batches? 10, 100, 1000? Guess for marketing purposes, we will never know!
