We are sourcing device prices ourselves from various retailers and organising and tracking everything carefully. Nothing is sponsored or influenced in any way. The retail market links are there for the user's benefit and some of them just happen to be monetized through affiliate programs. It really is a win-win situation.
Who else uses GSMArena on browser in desktop site instead of mobile site, or app?
s-pen pusher, 22 Nov 2019affiliate links, you mean on the articles itself? wouldn't that be seeking sponsorship from th... moreHmm that's a very good point. If their revenue depend upon affiliate purchases, they might have a conflict of interest, effectively favoring purchase of more expensive devices on a more frequent basis by overemphasizing these devices' advantages or changes to pressure readers into buying these new devices as they are "groundbreaking innovation" and old devices are "completely outdated" or something like that. Maybe keep an eye open but I don't think they'd do that.
Awesome, great job guys!
Feature request: Can we please have a widget that'd display at least 2-3 of the latest articles and allow us to set the intervals for when we want to fetch the latest ones again? I'd find that extremely helpful. That's pretty much it, everything else works great in the app and appreciate the removal of the ads.
Glad ads are gone (anyway some, like me, use system-wide, rootless ad blockers OS that doesn't change anything) and affiliate links are the most relevant form of advertising so that's fine by me.
As long as you don't compromise your journalistic integrity by selling out, publishing poorly documented infomercials disguising as actual reviews or irrelevant "deals" or "bundles" like so many sites are increasingly doing.
Great work guys! I was waiting for a black mode on my Mi Mix 3 for a while now. Also in a future update make sure to add "phone find" feature, I'm looking to buy a new phone and that's the perfect way to filter the things I want. Greetings from Bulgaria!
GSMA Team, are you thinking of getting this app into iOS?
I've gotten into iPhone recently but I really do miss my late night/morning readings of these articles.
Either way, awesome work on the app.
affiliate links, you mean on the articles itself? wouldn't that be seeking sponsorship from the oems? wouldn't that encourage bias from your reviews and news articles?
Nice job! I'm really happy without ads and especially happy for black theme, thanks GSMArena! :)
Still waiting for the update
