this is cute, but if they're only barely outclassing the current generation, that means they'll be almost a whole generation behind in 2020 when the actual phone come out.
All that power, yet they still won't release source codes. Powerful, but DOA for power users.
Lets wait till a phone with this chipset hits Speedtest G
The photo shown in the device is rooted and with rooted android its possible to do almost every thing...it may be hacked data.....
interesting!! now Qualcomm Snap Dragon have a real competition with Mediatek.. I'm currently using G90t in my rn9pro
normal mediatek story but great qualcomm snapdragon S865 new cpu next year no problem
Anonymous, 26 Nov 2019MediaTek betting on Flagship tier now? Woot That's kind of impressive but twhats the price of... moreI am sure Mediatek is not that dumb to price it higher than qualcomm equiv. Probably looking at even lower than 855+.
Anonymous, 27 Nov 2019How is the developer community support in regards to Mediatek chipsets?
Does the Redmi note... moreYou should not be expecting the equal number of developer for MTK and SD, afterall you talking about just 1 popular MTK chipagainst at least 10 popular SD chip. Give it some time to catch up.
Secondly, majority of the consumers do not even bother about developer community
How is the developer community support in regards to Mediatek chipsets?
Does the Redmi note 8 pro(Mediatek chipset) has less developer community support compared to Redmi note 7 pro which sports Snapdragon chipset?
One thing I think we can all agree on... Can't wait to see the first phone with this SoC hit so we can see if MediaTek really have shaken up the top end of the Android market.
Nolan, 26 Nov 20191. Fake Score (Real score should be around ~200,000)
2. No GPS or very poor GPS (MediaTek chi... moreWot, mediatek gps is ALWAYS has better accuracy than any others, qualcomn maybe the worst, need special patch (especially on unoptimized room like miui, or poor pure android) get better than 5m accuracy and locking speed.
Gaming stop suck with g90t (mc4 cores, means 8 cores slightly inferior than 10 graphic core KIRIN 980) support 2133Mhz lpddr4 instead 1866MHz 730G use. I believe 730G is bandwith starving causing poor performance adreno 616
I wholehearthly AGREED with darn weak signal tho

It's propably a testing board instead constrained in tiny case, but it also mostlikely alpha version experimental board to test firmware etc. stable version may get a lot of boost later, maybe on performance and / or power efficiency
It's on 36 celcius so I am sure it not umder loop water or worse, INDUSTRIAL TIER CHILLLER *cough intel cough* so all is good

Well acutly with the last vers on antutu my iphone 11 pro not max not 11 simple scores 539260 with multipe runs the score avrage about 539000....so close enough tho....P.S: Dear Gsmarena run again the antutu test with last ios and last vers of antutu....
A few sheep destroyed their phones.
On a more serious note, it's good to have competition in the SoC and processor department. Snapdragon was abusing market domination (much like Intel wad before AMD with Ryzen gatecrashed the party). Its processor development was getting slow. It's also good that everyone is moving to the 7nn size too. Hopefully better implementation of hardware for photo and video, apart from gaming capabilities, and things should be great in 2020. Also, SoC prices should also get lower (by how much, though, is anyone's guess). I am guessing that the entry of the Samsung 48MP, 64MP and 108MP Image Sensors has reduced inputs costs for the camera modules.
It's a great win win situation. If these scores are anywhere near genuinely, Samsung, Snapdragon amd others will start pushing for even further development, and smartphones can finally start beating midrange laptops for a lot of tasks, and maybe smartphone photography finally starts competing with the best point and shoot around.
