Anonymous, 28 Nov 2019LCD IPS is still the best in color accuracy and longevity.Not true, you're posting beliefs. Samsung displays set records for colour accuracy. In terms of longevity, AMOLED panels last long enough for pretty much everyone. Even my Galaxy S2 display looks perfectly fine after 8 years. I've never had any issues with burn-in because it was always made perfectly clear even in 2011, to anyone who pays attention in life, that you have to show some care for AMOLED displays. Anyway, these days people only keep their devices for a few years, so the longevity argument is flawed.

In the future we might see an article: "Apple might use a Samsung phones exclusively for new iPhone" :D
To be serious - lots of companies are making parts - it is important who is able to put those parts together :}

Samsung Mobile cannot prevent Samsung Semicon from selling the 108MP.
They would lose a lot of money.

Let's pretend sensor costs $40. Just for this explanation.
Now imagine how many devices may use it : xiaomi, oppo, realme, vivo, oneplus, lenovo, samsung.
Now imagine how many devices would not have it if samsung keeps it from them. 10, 20 million units?

Same way Samsung Display sell to other better screens than used by note 10+.

Huawei is quickly eating up Apple and Samsung's market share. The only way the two can be in the top 3 (and Apple return to no2), is if they both collaborate on more than hardware.

Plus Samsung needs to start working on keeping its imaging sensor and know-how atleast 2 generations ahead of the rest of the smartphone world. Which means they also need to work on the lens quality, Computational Photography algorithms, ISP and DSP, neural processing engine etc.
They should have bought Toshiba's imaging sensor division (though I am guessing the Japanese do not sell to companies from other countries).
