You are just speculating and don't have the hard facts to back up your claim.
Nokia Maps is 100% offline and free. You can download country specific maps from your home wifi and thats it. No need for internet connection for navigation or drive.

HTC has now GPS receivers in their smartfones,so you DON't need internet and you navigate for free!
It's the end of navigate devices ,it's the beginning of a new era .
"what a real WP smartphone is"??
I'm disappointed GSMarena, that you'd make such a comment.
Almost sounds like one of those fanboys who keep b*tching about how Samsung or iPhones or Symbian is so great.
Nowadays, Gsmarena is coming totally biased. What did u mean??
Lumia are the not real WP phones? Then tell me which HTC WP phone can do such a thing, which Nokia Lumia can't.
Come on! guys. NOKIA HAVE THESE FEATURES FROM YEARS AGO.
THEY HAVE THEIR OWN MAP APP, OWN DRIVE APP, which are absolutely free and almost accurate.
HTC just copy the ideas and take help of Tomtom.
Bcoz can't create by itself.
HTC did a great job by offering free navigation. It will certainly be a deal breaker for some people who are considering their brand and WP7 as their platform of choice.
Although i did not quite like the last line of this news article. Of course they are all real WP smart phones. :)
That's how this navigation looks like on HTC?
In that case...Nokia! Have no fear!
Htc made crap like he used to.
Why the hell no one is talking about huge advantage of Nokia. I mean, full offline navigation. You want to have sth which will be different?
Just one particular perk?
Why can't it be a navigation?
I've been using ovi maps for years and there is nothing better than this.
It's a complete coslution. Polished, fast and accurate.
When HTC made music hub or other shitty nitty "news" ...wow. THAT'S SOMETHING SPECIAL! Well, come on. Just copying the old ideas. Nothing new or revolutionary.
The same with the new lock screen (I'm talking about this circle).
It's is ripped from Nokia Bubbles.
I hope text about Nokia was an ironic:]
I hate when people bashing Nokia only because it is Nokia. Because it is great nowadays to bash Finns and support slowdroid.
My problem with Google Maps is that it is a bit overly obsessed with taking me out of my way to put me on a main road. Those main roads are no faster (and mostly slower) where I live.
This is a bit odd as Google have the real time traffic speeds for roads.
It seems to prefer a much longer route compared to doing more turns.
With other software you could choose: fastest, shortest distance, most economical, easy driving (less turns). I find that Google Navigation tends towards the 'easy driving' route which is neither economical or fast.
Haha awesome! Trying this out on my Trophy now - if it's not time-limited I may get another HTC instead of a Nokia as IIRC HTC's WP7 cameras have been better.
edwardLT, 29 Mar 2012iGO on android is better :p works well doesnt need internet connectionAvailable from where?
The owners of that company really don't like Android and the business model of Google. They refused to put out an Android version. I am not making that up, their are some online interviews with the top man.
I used Nav'n'go on my last phone and since I live in a hilly country terrain on a 3D driving view is the way to go. I could live with offline maps (I have already sound so many errors with Google Maps so not that bad being out of date) but don't want to bug software unless it can compare to the quality of Nav'n'Go.
Anonymous, 29 Mar 2012HTC already has offline gMaps in Android Locationsok, this is the bit that now has me confused.
Are offline Android maps only available for HTC devices?
HTC announced the Locations Google Maps partnership and functionality 2 years ago. I don't understand why this is coming out now and why there was nothing before hand. They gave press releases about offline maps for Google Navigation 2 years ago. What has been going on?
I was a bit surprised even when I got my android that there was no option to pay for a countries maps. I was led by HTC to believe this functionality would be becoming available (initially through the HTC user site thingy).
Well it is not an HTC exclusive since the program Nav Free on android market is out for a while now and any one with an android OS can download it. It has voice, is free for life and you have around 40 maps of different countries so far. Works with GPS only. No data plan or Wifi necessary. So get it people if you need it.
well try the lumia 800 it has free updatable sat nav for life. and its very accurate as good as tomtom. and like i said its free.
well done nokia.
iGO on android is better :p works well doesnt need internet connection
@GSMarena.com what u mean by last line "what a real windows phone is!" ? I think lumias got better build quality and better map! Dont be biased!

It's a 1 month free thing, still no product compares to what a nokia handset offers in terms of free Worldwide GPS navigation for life. with free updates! and POI's. all without needed a Data plan! or to precache at a certain point before you start your journey.
Google/Bing/Tomtom maps are really nice, but 1% offline functionality is not what i am looking for. I do not mind having old maps, old maps is better than NO maps!
