It's all starting to get a bit absurd. This is just a confirmation that we live in a world where consumerism is key. One line-up of phones per year is enough imo. Not to mention the impact this potentially could have on quality. Release something less frequent and make it good.
With Jony Ive gone, I want the new iPhones to get their headphone jacks back, add QuadDAC but reduce IP68 to be water resistant for 2 meters.
I think new phones should be released quarterly because it is a good way to milk stupid consumers. Also, I get to buy 'refurbished' every 4th quarter at bargain prices.
I think that the current 1000 dollar lineup will be considered cheap once they step into the foldable phone universe.
Annas, 03 Dec 2019What? They staill sell 700-1500$ iphones And that will never change in our lifetime Maybe ... moreThey still sell 11 Pro and Max models, but the majority people are buying XR and 11 only. So this report reiterates the fact that majority of people aren't ready to shell 1000-1500$ on Pro versions, and Apple is forced to release SE's successor to shore up their sales figures.
What abt SE2?
I’ve a feeling this is a good thing from a customer’s perspective. More options for the buyers and more pressure on Apple to come up with innovative features every 6 month.

Typical strategy: sales going down because people get tired of stagnation and lack of new features in devices so flood the market with more devices.
People willing to spend max $650-$750 for top spec mobiles! They are NOT for $1000 or $1500 mobiles, forget alone crazy $2000 & $2500 mobiles! If I look at the mobiles most of the Vivos, Oppos, Honor, Huawei RealMe mobiles giving great run for money competing against crazy priced mobiles!
Apple frequently changing strategies clearly indicates it’s acknowledging the fluid market situation With many competitors providing great value for money!
BTW, I use iPhone 11, it’s performance is no different than any android mobiles(midrange or flagships) and iOS not something better in terms of usability. There are areas where smooth integration between Apple ecosystem devices (which I don’t have ) but it is unnecessarily very expensive and will only attract those who have more money than...,,,,
imRGZ, 03 Dec 2019Finally Apple coming down from its high perch. Realised their high pricing won't work anymore ... moreWhat?
They staill sell 700-1500$ iphones
And that will never change in our lifetime
Maybe the cheaper one will be the successor of SE that was sub 500$
