I still prefer Snapdragons over Kirin, Exynos and Mediatek.

Is this going to help emulators or make things worse? Dolphin Team always said the mobile drivers are bad so this might help? Not sure if any other emulators are dependant on the drivers

Desktop feature? Apple has been upgrading their iphone GPU driver for many many years since long long times ago. So is Apple iphone desktop computer? Until today, Qualcomm just ignored their homework to do and is starting to do what they should have done. This is one of the reason why Android phones with Qualcomm chip have much lower game / graphics performance and shutters a lot on heavy game than Apple iphone.

Did they say anywhere that these driver updates will be free? I wouldn't put it past Qualcomm to charge for this 'ongoing service', in which case almost no OEMs will adopt it.

Fadli, 05 Dec 2019Apple Bionic is still the fastestThe 865 might actually yield better gaming performance than the A13. For example, they added support forward rendering, leading to better performance and more sophisticated lighting, and support for 144hz QHD panels. And, it can record in 8k30fps.

So nothing changes unless you really trust OEMs to rush out phone crashing drivers. Most OEMs already have problem keeping up with monthly security updates and you want them to test and validate graphic drivers as well?

Not good as it depends of the OEMs... so at the end, nothing change as OEMs push them in their OTAs when they need it, so no. The big change would come if standard drivers from the hardware designer/manufacturer release drivers that works with ALL OEMs and then each OEM can personalize them as an alternative like in PC.
