B0B, 06 Dec 2019240Hz and 3000mAh, this thing will be empty in 30 minutes while gamingMan there are barely 20 games which runs at 60 HZ so a 240 HZ is just gimmick and nothing else.
Anonymous, 06 Dec 2019it's a fake 240hz. Just a marketing crap. Actual display is 120hz. They just inserted a blank ... moreThey cant advertise it 240HZ if it is not certified genius.
For the first time in my life i am concerned about a battery life, sharp should be following one of these two strategies which none of them is good.
1)they heavily throttled the processor to maintain battery juice which compromises the performance meanwhile you will not benefit from the 240HZ most of the time, maybe not even the half.
2) it is not heavily throttled which means compromising battery life retaining the frame rate.
But perhaps they are relying on some charging trick like 45-60 W charging speed for the second choice.
Stop talking this phone down before its release. With 240Mhz, if the phone is able to last 12 hours of heavy usage it would be a winner.
YUKI93, 06 Dec 2019Sony Xperia 5 has about the same battery size as this Sharp, and yet no one complain.Lol everyone complains when it's a Sony phone.
Peachy001, 06 Dec 2019I can save them a ton of money... Don't release it with that battery.Sony Xperia 5 has about the same battery size as this Sharp, and yet no one complain.
Love the Community, 06 Dec 2019Is that how Asus and other gaming companies do that with their 240hz monitors? Researchers ... moreNope, those gaming monitors actually refreshes at 240Hz. Aquos Zero 2's display relies on optical illusion to make the motion seemingly more smooth, but some people (especially those who are sensitive to display flicker) should be able to sense that something is off with the way the panel refreshes.
Nick Tagataka, 06 Dec 2019It's actually a 120Hz display but interpolated to 240Hz through the insertion of a blank frame... moreIs that how Asus and other gaming companies do that with their 240hz monitors?
Researchers confirm that 240hz really does improve your gaming skills. Well, 144hz is already enough as it's the Golden Ratio.
B0B, 06 Dec 2019240Hz and 3000mAh, this thing will be empty in 30 minutes while gamingYou just like other comments I see below is completely ignorant to what an IGZO display is capable of in terms of battery life
I feel bad for those who just don't get it
it's a fake 240hz. Just a marketing crap. Actual display is 120hz. They just inserted a blank in between of each frame to make it sort of 240hz, so practically useless. If you see it yourself, you'll be so annoyed and you will want to turn it off and make it run only at 120hz.
Sharp: "Wooo we have 240Hz already, now, where are the games?"
*game developers, while barely supporting 90Hz refresh rates*: "Uhhhhh..."
Come on guys! You need at least 5000mAh of battery n a really good charger.
240hz and a HUGE dead pixel
s-pen pusher, 06 Dec 2019240Hz! Ftw?It's actually a 120Hz display but interpolated to 240Hz through the insertion of a blank frame between each frame.
This phone will get toasty at that refresh rate, given the battery life, users would also slap a charger or a power bank for sure which would further increase the heat during gaming. Sharp should make a case with rear fan for this phone or users should buy a separate case with fan if ever they want to buy this phone.
Hmm...it's lacking endurance, with all those hungry specs!!!
And for what for a wee bit 6' 240hz !!?!? THin so what ?!?!?
Probably the visuals will a feast for the eye, but can't even last a quarter of a day !!
Gamers will NOT buy it because of the battery size.
how is 3100 battery "relatively small" for this phone? asus rog 2 has nearly twice that with half refresh rate. pretty damn sure 5000 one won't be enough and most def this phone will come with a 15-18 watt charger
240Hz! Ftw?
