I'm not that too sad with this news eventhough I am a current Windows 10 Mobile user because I know that there are numerous active Android devices out there with long and outdated software version with no more security patches. I've been a former Android user for more three years now and counting, and I still see no reason to go back to Android as my daily driver. To this day, I'm still not feeling the app gap strain eventhough a lot of popular apps has been pulled out from MS Store. I still got all the daily essential app that I need, and that's all that mattered.

Makes me wonder one thing: Why some people out there are still clinging to old mobile OS such as Symbian and BlackBerry 10? They don't do that for nothing, right?

NoName ;, 10 Dec 2019"Goodbye the beautiful os...sad to see the tiles go...now all we have is icons...more and more... moreYou don't say, that is why everybody copied it's clean simplistic design? Actually the whole design in internet is a interpretation of windows 8/10 design.

I will miss it much after using Lumia 800, Lumia 910, Lumia 950 XL for many years.
If it continued development like desktop Windows 10 now it would be really neat and great OS. But, no mather what, it was a great third player.

Microsoft is earning almost the same from Android as Google does. So it's not a loss for them.

Having been forced to now use Android I cannot believe people willingly chose Android over the brilliance simplicity of Windows. Makes you just wonder just how many stupid people there are out there and how many of them are Directors of Microsoft.

My first smartphone was a windows mobile phone, Nokia Lumia 710.
I can't say that I feel sorry for Microsoft, they are doing pretty good right now. But for the sake of the mobile business, it would have been nice to have a third solid option in the long run.

I miss days when i could:

-Start application on my phone and have been sure it will be killed by nobody till I end it

-Applications could open port and receive notification/data without cencorship of operatingsystem / Big Corps.

                            - Could open up to 32 task windows as on desktop
                            Welcome to 2007 ;)

Well they got new one now. Will be interesting to see what they can do to make it stand out, be it sw or hw. Using two pocketable devices at once android and w10, would be too much hassle. Even more now with 8" tablets and phablets becoming one.

That has been a long overdued demise. This platform has been dying 2 years since it was released. Microsoft seems to not care much, didn't push that much for its app store.
