Would you trust your personal data on a computer that, exposed to the internet continuously, hasn't been updated since 2018?
Security updates are important, whether your computer has a keyboard or fits in your pocket.

I find it easy for apple to support their phones more.
consider this: apple released 2-3 phones yearly, all of which have pretty much the same hardware so not much coding to do. On the other hand, Samsung releases a dozen or more yearly, each with different hardware., Which needs a huge development section that had many coders and testers, this costs money, and makes competing hard in low-cost device segments.

only Apple gadgets I will get, if ever I decide to get another one, are the iPads and iP7+ below, new Apples are nowhere near Androids capabilities nowadays
After 2 years of use, its prudent you replace your phone. While software updates are much welcome, you're still banking on old hardware that sooner or later is bound to fail and at the worst imaginable time.
