It's a pity Huawei is out from west markets. It is less competition to Qualcomm and Samsung

Crackling Doom, 14 Dec 2019Huawei makes good chips but they tend to lack in the GPU department compared to Qualcomm. at least Huawei makes 5G integrated modem unlike Qualcomm, which should save space and battery lifetime and therefore gives kirin an advantages in 2020 .

Huawei should hire good logo designer to change the horrible logo of Kirin soc or just hire me, some lazy horse designer designed it like a randomly torn paper piece shaped like k.

Popy, 14 Dec 2019Gsmarena never does CPU throttling test on phones u have to go to anandtech or somewhere elseGsmarena already did one.
Every chipset throttled. Kirin was worst, followed by Exynos, then by Apple and Snapdragon.
Only chipset that didn't throttle were the ones which were equipped with some cooling technology.

                    Nobody goes to biased Anandtech.

If Qualcomm SoCs could handle those things with no problem, then there's no excuse for others to do the same.
They want to give Snapdragons a major run for their prices, but they can't even deliver such on-par level of performance and quality, let alone a superior one.

Dealler, 13 Dec 20195nm EUV from TSMC? Dude, they didn´t even master 7nm EUV, which is why SD is made by Samsung.Actually the TSMC pushed pitch size & disregarded better biosing which Samsung did much better. The TSMC 5 nm al do comply new node is based & back compatible with their 7 nm one's (regarding tools & easy migration of already made designs). Node is ready & it's expected that yields will improve enough till 3Q next year for large mobile SoC's. Unfortunately Samsung isn't making S865, TSMC is. Samsung is leader regarding GAA (as same as he whose regarding EUV) but that simply won't happen at least before 2022 while it's very important because FinFef simply doesn't make sense anymore.

Nice job Huawei. Intel 2019 Icelake still can't have that much improvement over 2015 Skylake.

Anonymous, 13 Dec 2019Still no hope for sure. Huawei case is political not trade. US don't want China ahead in tech... morechina is a threat to USA market. US can do it at USD 100 but only china can do it at USD50 or lesser. Why? Why?

If they can keep the same ISP performance as Kirin 990, then it will definitely be great news. Because of the Kirin 990's new ISP that I finally give a solid thumbs up to the camera performance of the Huawei Mate 30 Pro. So much better than the P30 Pro with much more clear details and far FAR less oversharpening.
