AnonD-558092, 13 Dec 2019Meanwhile Nintendo has a console 1000x less powerful than this that sells like hotcakes. I ... moreNintendo's motto has always been, cheaper, reliable hardware for affordable price. The upside with Nintendo is the consistent stream of quality 1st party games.

Hope no one believes this garbage console marketers spew.
Especially fresh in my memory is PlayStation, hyped to the highest heavens yet the damn Store doesn't run properly. Constantly lagging and crashing.

Hope the next generation of consoles finally get rid of the awful 60 FPS at its best issue. That just makes gaming like watching a PowerPoint presentation.

I hate gaming. It got tainted by IAPs so you got underwhelming games with crazy quality visuals but tons of paid junk.

Y'all are eating about 8K and false advertising. Get this: The 8K will work like on Xbox One S currently 4K works, through a simple rescaling of the image for games and apps but native for movie content. It's not real time gaming at 8K that's insane atm. It's not false marketing for the people that even remotely know a thing about hardware, and for those who don't, they wont know any better :)

new gen will be 4k 60-120 fps for me 4k is alright .. they can upscale or just play back 8k I don't care as long as they output beautiful graphics and games run 60 fps as a base

veryangrynerd, 13 Dec 20194K 60 fps, could support 120 fps(mind you resolution was not explicitly mentioned) and support... moreThat is because console manufacturers like Microsoft and Sony somehow are allowed to lie in commercials about resolution. The fine print will mention the amount of up-scaling and frame-skipping done, if you're lucky.

probably new gen consoles will be able to upscale 4k to 8k but not render the resolution as it is suppose to... any way who cares about 8k now days …. most people have 1080p me included.. just few ands newer people exchanging their tvs are getting 4k but just the entry level not the high end class oled / qled.
there is people still using 720p tvs 32 inches... non smart tv and some of the old plasma and crt tvs ….. then having in to account that the tv resolution race is set like this …. 8k is not necessary for now at least for the next 4 - 5 years when 4k is the base and 1080p just could be the entry 43 inches tv or doesn't even exist ...

4K 60 fps, could support 120 fps(mind you resolution was not explicitly mentioned) and support for 8K video Playback, an RTX Titan barely plays games at 8K
