GAMIRSFM, 17 Dec 2019The blind test that MKBHD did says otherwise...Quoting MKBHD is for tech whiz kids, not for people who actually know stuff. If that DSLR like blur was on Note, every Samsung fan and their children would be defending it to their last breath. They kept hush when Mate 20 Pro won it easily last time.

Well when comes to camera quality no samsung, lg, sony, apple etc can match Huawei devices.
Others are just costly but apart from that thery are garbage or not goog enough and not impressive devices.

I never trsut DxOMark, but on this case I'm so with them! Heck, even when GSMArena compared the Mate 30 Pro against the P30 Pro, I can definitely see that the Mate 30 Pro's photo quality has far more detail and little to no oversharpening. Even on a big 27" monitor, I can clearly see that waterpainting-like oversharpening from the P30 Pro but none whatsoever from the Mate 30 Pro.

And aside from this distinction, the Huawei Nova 6 5G takes the DXOMark crown for top selfie while the Huawei Mate 20X from 2018 still tops the DXOMark Audio ranking.
If Huawei manages to encourage app developers to support Huawei Mobile Services, they might not look back and be included in a US-China trade deal. Onwards, we might no longer see a global Huawei phone with Google Services at all. Google takes most of the app revenue (if not all) after all.

3.5mm Jack Fetishist, 17 Dec 2019Hol up, how does an extra 5G signal chip score better when the camera is exactly the same as t... moreMore mature software processing and an extra BIG neural core inside the NPU of Kirin 990 5G SoC must have contributed for better background blur processing and overall image quality when shooting in portrait mode. Apparently Mate 30 Pro uses AI to optimise the demosaicing process as well, so it makes sense to assume that more powerful NPU lead to higher quality digital zoom at ~2x (at which the portrait sample have been taken).

GAMIRSFM, 17 Dec 2019The blind test that MKBHD did says otherwise...His blind test only showed that people average people tend to choose brighter, more vibrant looking photos with almost non-existent DoF over darker photos with neutral colours and shallow DoF. It was all about what kind of photos people prefer, not which phone objectively provides the best image quality.

MadMel, 17 Dec 2019read the dxomark review, there is no reason to complain ... and MKBHD seriously ?MKBHD test have a different approach to most reviewer, it is based on consumers preference rather than technical quality. Photos with more contrast and popping colors are often preferred by consumers especially when viewed on a small mobile screen, but that doesn't means they are technically better (lose out in fine detail in shadow/highlight and color accuracy). The test is also done on small screen which does not require cameras to capture good detail or noise reduction. Most of voters have probably no idea what is color accurate as well.
