I received ICS update four days ago (here in Pakistan), so far it appears to have cured (to some extents) issues I was facing earlier, i.e. a) touch screen becoming un-responsive randomnly for few minutes, b) random reboots while idling, and c)stuttering/laggy performance (which I guess can't be fully cured due to Android's graphics rendering API).
One thing I noted that the phone feels slightly slower than earlier gingerbread 2.3.4 ROM.
I updated my sensation xe on 4th April.. The first impression was good but later realized that it have alot of bugs.. the phone keeps on restarting saying "Android upgrading..optimizing applications"..Also internet browser keeps on closing and many other issues.. HTC needs to do something about this!!
Since update I have weird problem with sensation it vibrates by its own without any reason. WiFi icon always show one bar even if I m only 1 feet away from my router.
i am from philippines and have done ICS update 5 days ago and so far the new OS is perfect..no bugs....phone i s running better...better speed, better battery, better interfcae ...so far so good,,... thanks HTC for the update
Uh Oh, Somebody's about to get pissed again because their phone doesn't have Bug and Glitch Filled ICS. I'm just waiting for that person to show up and they will.
I updated my HTC Sensation 3 days ago. Northwest England. Nothing buggy or unstable about it, apart from being able to pull the notification blind down at the lock screen. Looks good, battery performance may have been decreased.
Updated ICS a few days ago and so far so good. Screen is definitely sharper and everything, including applications are running smoothly. Had to install the latest version of Adobe Flash as is not installed by default. Very pleased although HTC Sense 4.0 would be nice and would be the icing on the ice cream cake.
Mine updated about 3 weeks ago. In the beginning sense always shut down and the other thing i noticed that i have to unlock my phone twice coz the 1st time my screen was blank. It happens till today but not regularly. The good thing is the ics was smoother than the gb.
the best part of the update is the longer battery life. the camera seems to take better pictures with more clarity and better colours.
Got mine in UK two days ago (sim free unlocked). Not many problems for me, phone is much faster than before. Homescreens are super smooth. Ran a few benchmarks - quadrant 2800 ; antutu 5400 ; nenamark2 40 fps! ; browsermark 88k. All in all, very noticable upgrade in speed. Especially graphics, temple runs much smoother than before.
Only minor issue is the browser, which sometimes lags a bit when double tap zooming.
Hope this helps people.:D
I live in Trinidad and Tobago but my htc sensation 4g is tmobile branded but it says no update available come on htc hurry up :(
I confirm OTA update to ICS for HTC Sensation in Romania. The software seems stable, has a few new integrated apps (notes, tasks), and Settings include now Usage Data. The most obvious and percieveable improvement (for me, as average user) is in the whole system speed response: better auto-rotation response, faster loading times of system and apps. Also, seems a slightly improvement upon battery consumption, but no wonders.
However, I strongly recomend a backup before update. In my case, due to a misundertanding between Bitdefender app and the SD card, the Sense UI started a loop of errors and restarts, that did not end until i removed the card. Afterwards i performed a factory reset and put back the card and all backed up info and apps and everything is ok and smooth. Most likely this happened due to the multitude of different apps and developers on market (i have about 300 apps on it).
have successfully updated XE to ICS 4.0.3,; i feel screen bit sharper and touch has become smoother, notifications screen and home screen works faster with very good sesitivity, smooth multitasking.. till now no issue and no complaint...not a single bug ....aha...yet hungry for sense UI version 4.0, which will be a perfact combination...just waiting
