first they launched periscopic camera on p30
then they removed it on mate30 then again they launched it on p40 whats going on

According to Kuo, the field of view of the 8 megapixel periscope camera will be equivalent to roughly 250mm. This means that the details could be comparable to the details of a 202mm 12.2 megapixel camera, so comparable to a 7.5x lossless zoom setting, if compared with a 12 megapixel 27mm camera. Though I think the sensor size will be small, probably not larger than 8mm². A larger sensor might need a too large aperture diameter.
Probably the diffraction will have a very small effect, but it won't be very noticeable.

Very good Huawei. Now just add granular control over zoom levels and you're good to go.
