so sony decided to run with the crowd: no top bezel (good thing: time and the battery level pushed on the sides of the now visible camera punch hole, before was hidden in the bezel... thus less space taken from the real usefully display surface) and side curved edges (useless but trendy...)... all purely cosmetics, nothing of importance, but, boy..., what the farmers want the farmers get... by my point of view, strictly mine, the deciding points will be the camera performances and the price.

1. Do you own any Sony Xperia phone yet?Did you have other phones than Sony?
For example, my last Sony phone was the Xperia Z1. After that, no other Sony phone catch my eye.
In all the categories, low-end, mid-range, flagship, Sony doesn't give anything new. Just some few improvements at the camera department and that's it.
They should improve at the most important part, price.
For example, in my country I bought a very good mid range phone from Samsung with 200€. Similar phone from Sony cost at that time 370€. Why?

The problem with Sony is that their flagship phones cost as much as other companies (ex. Samsung or Huawei), yet they don't offer nothing more.
At least companies like Xiaomi and One Plus offer better prices.
Also, Sony mid-range lineup is just garbage. Poor performance at higher price. Like Sony 10 or 10 plus.
No wonder, year after year only the fans of Sony buy Sony phones.

1 - The patent NEVER CONFIRMED anything about a punch hole screen or whatever. False assumption of stupid people again? Oh crap....
2 - Samsung never got the same level of hate when the S10 and Note 10 series were rumored to have this, but everybody seem to be highly heated when Sony does it. It really hurts when they do it better, eh?
3 - They hate Sony so much, which means they hate their phones as well because of the presence of a Sony hardware (camera sensor) inside of them.
4 - Funny how this decade is the age of greater information, yet people are more easily fooled by fake news than ever before. It's like we're going forward, but also stepping backwards. Come on, people! You could believe to something even more reliable than that!
5 - How is it good for their health that they speak out something that they most definitely haven't tried using personally yet? What is seen in the picture could be different from what the actual thing is. It's about damn time we change this bad attitude of ours and get better, especially now that the decade is about to end in 8 days.

Come to think of it, the punch hole recreates by other team, not from Sony itself. If the FFC located on the bottom bezel, its good.
I mean, whats the point of that bottom chin?

I hope it's not gonna be used on the Xperia 0. Xperia 0 has to utilize uncompromised Transparent OLED just like LG Signature Transparent OLED TVs. These things are totally like one view mirrors so there's no need to nerf the ppi on the camera area.

I don't have a problem with notches or punch-hole camera, they don't bother me. If the camera is a good upgrade over the Xperia 1 then i will buy it, if not then well... Huawei or Oppo or other brands

It looks like Sony is joining the dummies race to get some fame regardless from whom, practical decisions, i mean if 99% of the customers are rabbits for example you gotta start selling carrots instead of honey, thank you Nokia for leaving the lead now trends are made by a kid scrawl.
