As of now, these chips don't support mmWave as they only work with sub-6 GHz frequencies, but MediaTek did say that it would develop another product with 5G mmWave support down the line. Waiting for that!

S8 9.0, 27 Dec 2019I dont see any logic in reno 3 & 3 pro why tf reno 3 pro has less mp camera 3? Why reno 3 ... moreReno 3 uses dimensity 1000L not dimensity 1000. Dimensity 1000L is not flagship Soc , it is the toned down version of flagship dimensity 1000

Mediatek is just getting better and better at making competent SoCs. Hopefully they will wow us this time around as well just like they did with Dimensity 1000.

Anonymous, 27 Dec 2019G90T kicked 730G's ass big time! So, is posible that Mediatek can beat QualcomPerformance is good, but there is not a single G90T phone released which has full source code/kernel published. Redmi Note 8 pro is a partial source code release.
Don't see that changing with Dimensity chips.
So snapdragon phones will always have better custom roms than mediatek.

            I guess these D800 series would providing 2×A77 & 6×A55 compare with D1000 have 4×A77 & 4×A55.

Also 7nm mid-range chipset must be standard, not 12nm. Still they are better and better, year over year.

The only problem with Mediatek is compatibility with different hardwares. I recently purchased a gamepad and it doesn't support Mediatek powered phones.

Monopoly of the company is not good for end user and MTK might go head to head with Qualcomm in all the department of SoC.

Dimensity 800 & 1000 series (if performance rumors are true) might kill Snapdragon midrange and flagship lineup.

How is the developer community support for Mediatek SOC in 2019? Does Mediatek release kernel sources? That might be the only deal breaker.

While Qualcomm still get the majority nod, this chip - along with Dimensity 1000/1000L - should make them sleep with one eye opened. The only thing we need is a proof that these two chips are capable and cheaper alternatives to the SD8xx or SD7xx series

For Qualcomm fans if you want Qualcomm to be it's best paradoxically you have to want mediatek to be their best.. isn't that interesting
