Sony Ericsson with their cybershot and Walkman series were the best.

I know where the trend is heading but I would rather choose a phone with 3.5mm jack. Just more convenient.

If huawei is willing to spend a good chunk of their money there is verry big possibility for success.

And when everyone is trying to go for bigger screens with smaller bezels you can expect very similar phones from everyone. When phones will come with under-display camera I don't see how they could be different at all.

All what companies are trying these days is different user interface.
Speaking of OS - unfortunately Samsung failed with Tizen, Microsoft also failed. Let's see how Huawei will do to be different.

i dont understand why gsmarena stays with the s11e, s11 and s11 + nomeclature. I can recall that the s series will be elevated to s11, s11+ and s11 pro (which also explains the shift in display size since than s11+ and s11pro would differ just by 0.2" & the major difference would be between s11 and s11+ by 0.3-0.5"). Also the differences in the back camera would be explained since the huge one relates to the s11 pro.

I agree with you. When you think of character nobody beat Nokia. All Nokia phones had it's own character. It was a pleasure to browse Nokia's page and see the stories for all their phones.

Samsung and Huawei are FAR better than Apple. Where does Apple rank in the world? Surely NOT first NOR second.

With every generation there is less and less excitement.
Same glass sandwich with curved screen, soap rounded corners, same colours, punch hole on the corner or in the middle, just some camera arguments and that's it.
Same with every oem.
I really miss the old days where all smartphones were with identity and design character.

The Last Oracle, 28 Dec 2019The difference between them is negligible, at best.5.1 adds a "find my device" locating ability with an accuracy of 10cm. A neat feature they could have combined with the upcoming Galaxy Buds.

"Baring in mind, however, that this year the Exynos variant will apparently be quite geographically limited, with most markets getting a Snapdragon 865."

This is great news, since this years 865 is a superb SoC, with a lot of very capable video and photo enhancements and much faster and improved chip (despite the mild claims in improvements).
