I refuse to buy any phone with an AMOLED panel because the PWM flickering causes me terrible headaches and eyestrain, and DC dimming is an insufficient solution since it does not eliminate flickering entirely and causes a degradation in image quality.

No one knows but there have been no news o... moreThere it is, apparently, Huawei analysed the faulty displays from LG and BOE (doesn't matter the quantity) and the final results were that BOE's QHD displays weren't stable enough for its future products.
These facts should concern Apple, etc. using BOE's displays unless BOE has given Apple's engineers/scientists a few samples of their upcoming displays.

What country in the world can do what China does at the same production costs and scale?.
Trump or any other president can impose tariffs on China all they want. However, businesses only care about profits. Right now, manufacturing in China is still more efficient in terms of costs and scale than anywhere else. That's reality. No amount of biased media reports can change that.

Strange that they are moving to chinese BOE (owned by government of China), as there has been a lot of talk that U.S. tech giants are moving out from China and moving also their production parts sources out from China.

OLED haven't been problem after iPhone X came, i personally was very worried about iPhone having OLED screen, but luckily Apple made it their own version, it doesn't really look your typical OLED screen with unnatural punchy colours. OLED have got lot better than what it was before, you know tech improves? So i don't see anyone turning their backs.

Love the Community, 31 Dec 2019But BOE has yet to make Transparent OLEDs for the underscreen Face ID.FaceID doesn't even need transparent display. It's the visual part that does. FaceID, the dot projection part could work through OLED panels already. Problem is with visual sensors that need to pick up actual details and colors (basically visual spectrum of light).
