Taking an excuse of instances of failures of other manufacturers adds more shame, infact other manufacutures did have embarassment when they faced similar situations.
btw, what happened to 'this is all at&t fault' verbose
The amount of irony in "thebetatestisover" is emmm ohh so delicious...

They wouldn't be anything special. They wouldn't be making headlines... and they'd probably still lose money. At least by differentiating themselves they stand a chance.

Nokia never copied iPhone.. Nokia is known for for its unique phone design, unlike your "new nokia". hahahahahaha!
Your "new nokia"'s phone design is so boring, a rectangle with rounded corners, a cheap copy of iPhone. Your "new nokia" doesn't know the word "innovation".
zet, 11 Apr 2012Nice.. but.. this idea is so not profitable.. for Nokia..Nokia doing this is an act of good faith. Kinda like a retail store having no hassle return policies. It will keep those customers coming back and spending more. I look at this as just a minor glitch that was, from what I understand, more an ATT problem, not Nokia.

Most smartphone buyers these days are not techies. They are average people that honestly have no idea how to fully use the phone. A few people at work only use their smartphones for email and texting. I find only the hardcore techies are the ones defending Android. Most of them don't even realize its Android. One lady got hers because it was a nice pretty blue phone. WP7 I find more mass appeal to because its such a simple and clean interface. I am hoping a Lumia is my next phone when my contract runs up for renewal in November.
zet, 11 Apr 2012Nice.. but.. this idea is so not profitable.. for Nokia..it's a risk to make future profits..a business tactic, a wise one.. they would rather spend $100 rather than to lose everything they had invested.
oddly enough, the phone initially costs 99.99$ .. And nokia's giving away a 100$ credit.. So tht means they're actually GIVING THE BUYERS 0.01$ FOR BUYING A FLAGSHIP PHONE! Now that sounds like a steal deal.. Whatever the OS is! :D .. Nive move nokia \m/

I read the article & its very objective. we can use the terms "compensation or incentive" instead. Nokia is just being fair to the consumers. anyone would do that if they make mistakes.

Windows Phone boy, 11 Apr 2012Buy two like i have, lets show Nokia windows phone is what people want, lets help them sale well.LOL.
you know what, I really don't like the Metro UI, it's so boring, and I also hate all the limitation that WP7 have such as zune, no real bluetooth (just for headset), no usb data mode, etc.
and everytime my friend ask me about WP7 (I'm the tech guy in my friend circle), I told them Samsung is the new Nokia.
Phone Addict, 11 Apr 2012Nokia. This is embarrassing. im a nokia fan & i feel the same way too but i think nokia's solution & offer are more than enough to make up for the disappointment & inconvenience made by the problem.
No more smartphone
I bet nokia 103 will replace this phone worldwide
I bet nokia 103 battery is way way way better than this phone.
You wanna bet?
symboy, 11 Apr 2012it is purely business...yeah, it's purely bussiness.
with WP7 is not everyone cup of tea, nokia literally have to bribe their user to stay. If nokia using Android, they really don't have to do this.
Anonymous, 11 Apr 2012Money talk Nokia bribe the userit is purely business...
