I purchased a Note9 in 2018, and i'm very disappointed of new phones, i'll keep my phone until 2p22 or 2033 maybe

Anon, 05 Jan 2020Phones with 4000/5000 mah+ batteries Not included in optionsPhones already have 4000- 5000 mAh battery and the samsung M30s has 6000 mAh
IpsDisplay, 05 Jan 2020This would have been an option is select easilyOne problem.
Batteries with same size but higher capacity = higher density
Higher density = less cycles than battery of lower density and same capacity

For example a phone as small as Sony XZ1 Compact does not have space to add Qi coil, 3 rear cameras (especially a bigger one like 1/1.5" or 1/1.3") , battery above 3.000 mAh etc ...
People that love small flagships would lose many features compared to bigger phones.
I do not own one, but form factor of Nokia 8 Sirocco is perfect (except the curved screen).
5,5" 16:9 , but only 14cm ......
Honored mention to Sony ZL. 5" 16:9 but 13,1 cm ....
I honestly am not really expecting or looking forward to any features or technology being released in 2020. If you think about it, there has been little in phone development for the past 3 years , maybe bigger batteries, slightly better cameras. The whole notch thing was a joke from apple and I was really disappointed when the android sheep followed suit. Maybe we can move past that in 2020 , but who knows. Perhaps a faint glimmer of excitement for the moto razr folding phone, maybe for folks that like small phones that would be functional. The rest of the folding phones/tablets are a total experiment at the moment and seem to have years to go.
Kingslayer, 05 Jan 2020Smartphones have already been perfected.I agree with you on this.
The Android Freak, 05 Jan 2020Get rugged case. Invest some money. That's the thing, "get a case". I didn't buy a shiny device to cover it with a case.
And haven't I already invested money in the phone? Why should I pay more for it to survive the warranty period? It should be able to do that out of the box.
Soon they'll start making phones out of paper and people will be like "it's fine, just get a case". Maybe it's time to demand more for the over $1000 price tag, don't you think?

Oppaii, 05 Jan 2020I need a 30W+ charging speed that doesn't damage/ruin the battery after a half a year or so. Fast charging and Qi charging that do not harm battery do not exist.
And wont unless they drop Lithium ..

An affordable folding phone similar in design to the Huawei mate X, but made by somebody else.
Yep. Prob not happening.
Camera is more important than anything else... full bezeless smartphone won't be comfortable to hold in hand! so thin or slim bezels is perfect!
AnonD-558092, 05 Jan 2020Let's ignore high MP cameras. We all know that they will be in binned mode all the time so tho... moreAgree ..... AR and VR for mobile are big failures and waste of money. ....
AnonD-558092, 05 Jan 2020I'd also like a Galaxy Alpha 2020James, most of costumers are from Asia.
Except in Japan , most like big phones.
Then brands make only big phones.
Soon we wont seen phones with less than 15 cm.
For my hands, 14,5 cm is the max ... My pockets cant handle a 17cm phone.
Let's ignore high MP cameras. We all know that they will be in binned mode all the time so those 100+MP numbers are phony. However there will be bigger sensors this year and this is something to be looking for.
Under display selfie cameras are cool. Never took a selfie, never will so I'd rather have my viewing experience not ruined by something futile like this. Then again I'm fine with a small bezel.
I'll let foldables improve in durability before considering them.
High refresh rates... I guess I'll have to see it to know if it's great or just hype.
Faster charging... meh. It's already fast enough for me.
AR replacing VR. Really? Yawn. Overhyped junk that failed gets replaced by other overhyped junk.
lazarenko, 05 Jan 2020What I would like to see in 2020 is at least a one normal compact phone. Something like this: ... moreI'd also like a Galaxy Alpha 2020
Anonymous, 05 Jan 2020Why just sub-6GHz 5G? Iphone and Xperia will also work with mmWave. Because sub-6 is the only useful part and also the one part of 5G you'll use the most unless you like hanging out exclusively at heavily crowded areas.
