Anonymous, 07 Jan 2020all looks good but...again they will screw up everything with tiny battery.... and now sony lo... moreMaybe if people did not buy into the thin and light stuff, maybe you'd get an option to have an ugly thicc extended battery to replace the default one.
But lol no. We have thin and light ones that are prone to scratches and breaking that they needed a thicc ugly for protection.
I'm waiting for a newer version of Compact phone, not a BOX like an actual box! As of now, if I would want compact device, I would have to look at grey import of Sharp mobile phone.. How silly this sounds! In 21 century with so many manufacturers!
Basically an Xperia 1 with 3.5mm headphone jack. Finally at last, a worthy Sony flagship to look forward to. I have been holding off the Xperia since XZ2 because Sony ditched the jack, now is definitely the right time to go back to them.
Finally!!!! A phone worth to be looked up.... 3.5mm jack hype!!!!
Anonymous, 07 Jan 2020all looks good but...again they will screw up everything with tiny battery.... and now sony lo... moreAs far rumors has voiced, the upcoming flagship of Sony will at least equipped with 4200 mAh from ANATEL website (Brazilian equivalent to FCC), and it was published on Slashleak twitter account. Yes, ANATEL was the one who accurately leaked the Galaxy Note9 4000 mAh in the first place.
From this leak design is a GO for me to replace my outdated XZ2. I just hope it sport 120hz
Anonymous, 07 Jan 2020all looks good but...again they will screw up everything with tiny battery.... and now sony lo... moreAgreed, we can extend it for two days but in heavy use it just remain for half of the day.
Anonymous, 07 Jan 2020all looks good but...again they will screw up everything with tiny battery.... and now sony lo... moreThe rumor is that it will feature a 4000mAh battery.
I think it's not a flagship phone, it's just a upper midrange with sd765 and cheaper then xperia 1.
all looks good but...again they will screw up everything with tiny battery.... and now sony lovers, please think before make a comment.
I am aware of sony optimization and that they make two days battery life but NO, this is not enough anymore...not in 2020.
Fayth, 07 Jan 2020it's perfect, flat un-curved screen, minimal bezels, headphone jack, stereo speaker, camera bu... moreI dont hate this cause it's Sony. I hate all the phone OEM's that make the phones as tablets and not a phone that you can put in your pocket. This 6.6 inch screen on 21:9 on these Sony phones make the phone like 170mm tall.
Even 140mm is too tall for a phone to fit in a construction working cloths pants pocket sideways. I know it as it was with my Nokia Lumia 830 that way. Probably one of the reasons why it got screen damage. Basically you need to have like womens party bag just for you phone cause pockets are not big enough to fit any of these lard tablets in them.
Never mind as i am not the oriented market anyways. i dont look flagships as i dont see a point of them if i dont pay games. Watching movies from it or browsing the net or social media dont require to have high end specks phone. Sad thing is that even the budget range dont have any of the smaller 5-5.5 inch screen phones that are not taller then 140mm that is already a bit too tall anyways.
TimApple, 07 Jan 2020So Xperia 1 was Sony's 2019 flagship and Xperia 5 was a more compact and cheaper version of Xp... moreif the stepgap sucessor to xperia 1, apparently called xperia 1 plus and with a screen size reported to be 6.9" at 21:9, then the naming convention makes sense, BTW, sony never said that Xperia 5 was the compact phone, it was there slightly smaller version of their flagship, what was a deal breaker is that they took away memory embedded camera which allow 960fps from xperia 5
Davy Jones, 07 Jan 2020It looks awful and beautiful at the same time Or it looks like any other smartphone released in the past 3 yrs.
Haidy, 07 Jan 2020You didn't understand the context of what i was saying & i won't bother trying to explain ... moreYou were wrong and someone called you out on it. A normal person would just acknowledge it and be grateful for the clarification - everyone makes mistakes and you needn't be insecure about it. Instead the insecurity takes over and you counter with the "I won't bother explaining" card and drop an unwarranted F bomb. Of course you won't bother explaining - but the real reason is because you can't logically justify a fallacious statement.
Pretty sad.
They better market it aggressively like there's no tomorrow to earn back some sizeable market share.
Like, where I live all I see are Galaxies, Oppos, Vivos, Realmis, Mis, Redmis and then some Huaweis...
So Xperia 1 was Sony's 2019 flagship and Xperia 5 was a more compact and cheaper version of Xperia 2. In a way Xperia 5 was just Xperia 1 Compact or Xperia 1 Mini.
Now in 2020 Sony will be releasing Xperia 5 Plus which is either a bigger version of the Xperia 5 or their 2020 flagship.
Not only is Sony's naming scheme ridiculous but their releases are extremely redundant. Xperia 5 Plus will either be the most bizarrely named flagship or a literal Max version of a Mini version. Either way it's nonsensical.
it's perfect, flat un-curved screen, minimal bezels, headphone jack, stereo speaker, camera button, ToF
but people will still find a way to hate it
because it's Sony
