I think I'd actually prefer the Blackview 9900 for that price tag. It has a slightly better camera, P90 is on par with that Exynos, 8GB RAM/256 GB ROM, global bands, and slightly bigger (which equals better) battery.
The back and corners look perfect.
CompactPhones5ever, 08 Jan 2020Exactly! Yesterday I was saying in another article that the dumbest thing that manufacturers c... moreI have an XCover 4S, and I am considering switching to the Pro. The battery is about 50% larger, and it adds a fingerprint reader. Unlocking the 4S can be tedious: press button, swipe away first lock screen to reveal the pattern lock, then unlock that. Often I go entirely without a lock because of this, but I feel rather uneasy about it.
Something I am curious about is the supported LTE-bands, as I travel a lot. The 4S supports mostly just European bands, but at least it has one common American one, which came in handy on my last voyage. The higher-end XCover FieldPro, if it ever becomes available, is supposedly even worse according to certification specs, sticking strictly to EU bands in the EU version and US bands in the US version. Useless for me. I hope the Pro is more like the 4S than the FieldPro.
samsung please make phone 5.5 inch, people tired of huge phones
Whackcar, 08 Jan 2020Some ignorant people are bashing the design like it matters. You don't buy a rugged phone for ... moreI don't care about looks. But the price is 500 euros, and seems like they've slapped cheap hardware in. Where's the OLED screen? In terms of specs seems like M30s is doing better.
"Giant leak" - Samsung officially announced it five days ago in Sweden, with pics and specs...
Some ignorant people are bashing the design like it matters. You don't buy a rugged phone for it's look. If you want a pretty phone, buy a regular phone. Rugged phones are built to last. They're not meant to look pretty.
It's like going to a reptile pet store & saying they don't look as pretty as dogs or cats...
End, 08 Jan 2020Ugly smartphone 2020? Lots of pretty and slim phones get covered by ugly cases anyways so fair game.
Nice Guy, 08 Jan 2020They could placed the front camera on the upper bezel.. Stupid designingPresumably on a 'rugged' smartphone you would want sensitive bits of hardware like camera lenses away from the edges of the phone where they wouldnt be so protected?
Nice Guy, 08 Jan 2020They could placed the front camera on the upper bezel.. Stupid designingExactly! Yesterday I was saying in another article that the dumbest thing that manufacturers came up with was a double punch hole... Less than a day after Samsung beats it by putting a F*CKING PUNCHOLE ON A PHONE THAT COULD FIT THE SELFIE CAMERA IN BOTH TOP AND BOTTOM BEZEL, lmao.
That being said, I don't hate the phone per se. It's actually an interesting take on the rugged phones, I don't think there's ever been a phone that combines large display with a fairly ""compact"" design (I know doogee makes rugged phones with 6"+ displays, but they usually have massive bezels which turns the phone into an incredible brick, barely portable). My main issue with the phablets is that they're fragile, and this phone apparently takes care of this issue. Samsung only dropped the ball with the price - their XCover 4s is already available under 200€, and I don't really think anyone's willing to pay more than double that for a larger display and slightly more power.
Nice Guy, 08 Jan 2020They could placed the front camera on the upper bezel.. Stupid designingI'm pretty sure that's a protection bezel
Ugly smartphone 2020?
