Vic4BBM, 09 Jan 2020Samsung supplies major hardware components to others like - Amoled screen, memory chips, batte... moreNot the batteries and they are still supplying SoC now and it's more than what was in the past. Actually they didn't supply that much SoC in the past.

Vic4BBM, 09 Jan 2020Samsung supplies major hardware components to others like - Amoled screen, memory chips, batte... moreActually, outsourcing is much more cost effective than insourcing. Manufacturing your own materials in a big scale only saves cost of management, makes communication more seamless and better quality control. Let's also not forget that Samsung heavily relies on marketing and then R&D and then setting up many physical stores allowing easier access to their hardware. Samsung generally cannot compete price with budget focused brands although the M lineup gives very decent value for money. Well that's what I think.

Vic4BBM, 09 Jan 2020Samsung supplies major hardware components to others like - Amoled screen, memory chips, batte... moreThere is something called valuation. Dosent matter if the product is sold to other OEM's or its used in their own smartphones, the product valuation is the same.
Sure its not for us the consumers but is very lucrative business practic.

Samsung supplies major hardware components to others like - Amoled screen, memory chips, batteries and also SoC ( in past), to most of mobile makers in the world.

With Samsung being manufacturer and supplier of most big ticket items required for a mobile phone, how can its own phones be so expensive?? It's understandable that Samsung sells to others with its profit and other margins, to which makers add up their own margins. But when it's their home product and components , how can it be costing more than others???
They even make mid rangers with same components.

Those buying components from Samsung are churning out cheaper phones comparatively.

Paying a right price is acceptable but that doesn't mean it has to be insane.
