Anonymous, 14 Jan 2020Can't wait to go into dev options and enable it anyway.Only if that option is available... Your face after pay a fortune, go to the dev options and watch/discover that you can't do that will not have price.
Did you forget that even with the crying from customers Google only was able to improve it a bit to try so silent the bad PR? They wans't even able to address the customer requierements due to the bad battery endurance allowing it. Nothing shows that Samsung can do it. They have done it for a reason.
The only thing thats sad really is that the s20 lineup looks far inferior to the note 10 lineup. Regular customers don't care about any hz-reduction when they can tell their un-nerdy friends their s20 can do 120hz anyways. customers are pretty simple and dont dive deep into specs...
uk7866, 14 Jan 2020This is lame news. The rumours have the S20 range looking pretty lame both in looks and internals!S20 lineup is the more of a successor of the S9 lineup - expected also in sales. Despite the camera improvements of the S20, the S10 lineup was more premium looking. Samsung updates theirs design once every two years. Nothing new here just wait for the S30 or any other refreshing phone from 2020 - Next Galaxy Fold, Oneplus 8 Pro, Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro, Huawei P40/Mate40 Pro, Apple iPhone 12, Google Pixel 5.
lol that's pretty useless then. Always 90Hz would have been far better...

These are flagships, no cheap ones. Now, seems that the main camera in two models will still be the old 12MP and only the new one with 108Mp in the hyper expensive Ultra.
If you can't even get a proper refresh rate a high resolution for gaming or whatever you want do as is your!!! phone. Then there is no trade with them, so a big NO buy. At the end, now they even offer less features than their previous flagships but without make them cheaper. They cost even more. Probably even only the Ultra will have expandable storage.
Another day, another feature removed from Samsung flagships...
This is lame news. The rumours have the S20 range looking pretty lame both in looks and internals!
They dont want to be bashed when every reviewer do the battery endurance test lol. Well prepared.
Pretty sure it can be enable in developer option.
So that means it will be a standard refresh rate at QHD+?
That's a shame, they could've allowed 60HZ at the full resolution as a compromise.
A lame company taking the desicision making in to their own hands, while they should on the consumer hands.
AnonD-754814, 14 Jan 2020That's a great decision ! There is no reason to do that as these GPU won't be able to run hig... moreWhat made you think FHD@120Hz is better than QHD@90Hz? The latter is better in almost every way.
Andrew Thompson, 14 Jan 2020Some Fanboys will argue its for battery life, atleast there should be an option for QHD+120Hz..... moreTechnically, Samsung just doesn't want to risk the poor battery life on their devices for the long run. They're looking for stability and not upgrading every single time they release a new device. Compared to OnePlus that releases and teases every other month with only one variant of device.
*laughs in OnePlus 7 pro Qhd+ 90hz* not 120 but comparing it side to side tot he Razer phone, difference is difficult to spot.
What a disaster, should it not be the consumer who decides what better is used, why no 90Hz option?

They remove features, add an ugly hump and offer less than competitiors at premium prices. They have learned a lot from Apple. Very innovative! You also can use Samsung Pay for buy the phone with a nice added interest in 36 months ^^
