lalaland, 18 Apr 2012i actually love windows phone now! i've tried android devices (Samsung galaxy s2, galaxy nexus... moredid i hear reach apps? lol.. yea many times i feel all fake ms guys sitting on ppl and typing all praise words for their own OS.. Android might be lil low and unresponsive may be coz the OS is bundled with so many codes to decode with that even ur brain wont take it. MS has a long way to go and since its just the beginning for MS they have a long way to see. People are always attracted towards trying new things then maybe it phone or a car. But at the end only the best will stay consistent and on top of the list.
"No one comes into the store and asks for a Windows phone,"
Haha, this statement reminds me of my country's operators.
Everytime you asked about the availability of the iPhone (all surrounding countries had iPhones except ours!) they said that they get around 100 in store queries per day. And after 2 years of out right begging we finaly got it thru 1 operator and even that is owned by a telecom from abroad.
I think someone threatened to blow up the main operator's HQ if they don't start selling it. :D
To sum it all up: Operators are a bunch of monkeys.
The Man, 17 Apr 2012You said WP is faster than Android where is your proof for this lame lie? WP doesn't tolerate... morewell,no need to argue, since your such a narrow-minded troller.you should change your Nick....The Brat.
Nokia died to me when they dropped Maemo / Mego. I will never (99.99999% sure) buy windows phone, I do not want end up paying $200 M$ tax every time I want a new phone. Seeing how M$ goes about licensing, I shiver thinking what licensing model they could come up with once they have majority of the market.
Maybe the guys @ XDA should take a look at the device, it certainly is capable of running android. I wouldn't mind buying a LUMIA and flash an android rom on it in place of that shitty WP7.5 mobile OS.
give wp 1 to 1.5 years.
It will be better from DONUT to Gingerbread.

The... moreHi you total invalid, you should probably know that people who "sit in stores" are paid agents of their respective carrier, not of any manufacturer, and they are more likely to sell the product that DON'T have an unresponsive screen *coughN9cough*, or glitches beyond usability *coughN97cough*, or just won't power on *coughlumiacough*. We push the products that we won't have to send for warranty or listen to whinging about later. I sell the contract and SIM card, and my choice of handset to push depends solely on what doesn't suck for me, and doesn't suck for the customer. Hence the speedy death of Nokia sales.

i actually love windows phone now! i've tried android devices (Samsung galaxy s2, galaxy nexus, samsung galaxy tab 7) and they all drive me nuts! they overheat fast for like a couple of hour! they hang a lot and drain the battery faster! windows is really smooth! just tried lumia 800 yesterday and i just fell inlove with it! so smart and just simply amazing! same with n9 amazingly different! android's advantage is only apps! they got reach apps!
if people will just know how beautiful the meego and windows phone and also the new symbian(nokia) belle fp1! they just dont know what they are missing!
about apps! if people will realize that they will complete the needs it wont be hard for developers to develop apps for the platform!
as a samsung and apple user and a recent windows user i have to say i wish nokia had made the jump to android. Its ok all the nokia fanboys saying they should but ive been a nokia fanboy in the past and recognise they made excellent phones but got too complacent.Thats where apple and samsung came in.I agree there are nokia fans who say it was the right move going with windows but in my sales enviroment it certainly wasnt.I would have nooo problem buying a nokia with android on and mark my words if and its a big if they tried android then this would certainly give samsung htc a big run for there money.Unfortunately in these hard economic times there going to struggle so before anyone starts bashing me its just my honest opinion.
I have a 4s and before that I had a Galaxy S which I both love; but it's always been my opinion that Nokia have always produced good, top end devices - I still miss my old N95 8G - so I can't understand why Nokia would choose to use only Windows as it's OS..
Samsung have done a fairly decent job of releasing handsets for Windows as well as Android and there are more devices due later this year. I've no doubt whatsoever that Nokia could produce seriously competitive handsets for the Android platform.
Naturally any extra competition for ios/Android is welcome but let's hope they eventually make the leap of faith with Android as well.
Its amazing how NOKIA survived what it would have killed any other company.
Its amazing how far they can go, with the love they have earned from their hard core fans, who have fallen victims of their exceptional marketing and keep living in their delusional world...
Nokia cant compete with the same terms, with the other Mobile devs, they never could, never will.
It took them 2-3 years to come up with a touchscreen smartphone and they knew that having the same OS, the fight would be to compete with specs/price/innovation triangle and they always failed there, as they always selled an overpriced copy.
There was never an option to enter the Android market,
thats why they were always trying to find a viable alternative.
Finally they got one, the windows platform, as it is now, is a viable alternative, they can survive through this IMO, make no mistake, they wouldnt survive direct competition and thats why they cant enter the Android market.
The greatest mistake though will be, not support WM8 with their current flagship Lumias, that could kill them off.
Even stupid, hard core fans, wont forgive that!
Its a waste of such good hardware to not have Android over it.
I really like N9 but only thing stopped me from going there was the doomed OS.
Now same with WP7 OS. I think it would be a winning combination - Nokia HW and Android OS. Will give a run for money to Samsung and HTC.
Nokia lumia is good design but i don't like OS. if it use android, i will choose it.
Though the specs of the lumia series are not at par with current Android devices it's a gorgeous looking device .. the operating system is quite well refined .. The metro ui is something quite innovative .. I myself use an s2 but had ported wp7 on my previous hd2 .. The only thing keeping me from owning a windows device is the lack of apps .. Plus zune is too much of a hassel .. Still It won't be long before Nokia becomes a serious competition for Android devices
