The thing is all will be dissapointed to some degree considering how anticipated this phone is and people will wish for the best, only natural. Most important for me is the design. If it looks a bit like the other press invite leak pic ill be very happy

all the anger and arguing over rumours!!
Let's be realistic here... as an owner of a... moreNexus models don't have SD, so i wouldn't be surprised if another "top" model lacks SD.
fadi, 17 Apr 2012good one!!!!I dont quite agree with your last statement of "blowing the competition out of the water" because, the specs you said the competion already has those specs as there are already quad core 720p phones out there..
all the anger and arguing over rumours!!
Let's be realistic here... as an owner of a GS1 and GS2...
There was a lote of scope for improvement between the GS1 and GS2 - Android a couple of years ago was still relatively new and finding its feet... but it's come on leaps and bounds since those dark days of lag...
Nowadays I'd argue that most Android phones, certainly manufactured this year should give a fantastic user experience with ICS, lag-free (to be fair GS2 eliminated all lag, so there's no reason to think phones created a year later won't also perform as well)
There is much less scope for improvement this time... it's more about improving what's there... and for me, personally, it's about screen quality, battery, definitely keeping the expandable memory, and I suppose (to keep up with the Joneses) quad core (although I can live without that as GS2 functions PERFECTLY)
I would love a funky new handset design, and in a dreamworld - 3D!
All it has to do is make sure it doesn't TAKE AWAY features like Sony / HTC and it should be a clear winner... if it doesn't have expandable - then there's definitely industry conspiracy... can't see that happening though!
2 weeks to wait!
Hi, 17 Apr 2012Give it a 5000mah battery that would be enough for me to upgrade :)Lol that's what Android needs to stay powered for more than a day lol just teasing just teasing lol
hmmm...not a big upgrade... 4.3 to 4.7 inch screen, iphone did nothing.
480p to 720p hd resolution, iphone did nothing.
dual core to quad core, iphone goes from single to dual, decent boost.
launching with ICS, S II might not even have it by then.
Seems like a major upgrade to me :)
Of course, same crappy battery, and (And even worse with less hardware buttons and wasted display space) the same boring design. No reason to expect any improvement at all.
As the Americans would say.... BALONEY!!!
In my words this is complete made up bull*$*#... Why would Samsung create a "Something big is coming" event and launch an updated s2 as an s3 or rather the "next galaxy" after such a delay. It simply doesn't make sense. Rather than posting crap like this on the net why not just wait and see, besides there are only 2 weeks left before this event.
Honestly what I'm expecting is:
1. the exact same design as SGS2 but maybe 0.1-2 inch difference on the screen. Samsung isn't very good with designing a phone shell.
2. TouchWiz will OBVIOUSLY be on it.
3. Smaller icons (thus the 5 row icons)
4. 1080p recording (kind of pointless on a phone with a 720p screen unless you use itto transfer to a computer or DVD and watch the content
5. No SD card slot unfortunately, 16GB internal and Cloud Storage (which is NOT a good replacement for External SD Card slot ESPECIALLY when you're shooting 1080p videos which can eat that cloud storage for lunch).
7. Quad Core is pretty much a given.
8. Maybe the first 5mp front facing camera (This one is a big maybe)
9. In door GPS (like MeeGo was coming up with).
10. Human Interface sounds Cool but annoying.I don't want to unlock my phone every time I look away from it.
11. No touch swipe gestures like MeeGo has. Basically you can move between screens by using gestures without touching the screen OR you can touch the screen, think Kinect menu swiping.
12. 2300Mah battery.
13. Wifi AC Capable (ok now I'm dreaming, it'll be Wifi B/G/N).
14. 8mp camera
That's about all I can think of it having.
I want May 3rd to hurry up so I can see how right and wrong I was with this. But I bet the design will be another black rounded edge rectangle.
I used HTC's One X a bit the other day and frankly I cannot see any major improvements on GS II for the average user. All Samsung needs to do is improve on what REALLY matters to the users i.e. battery life, not silly specs and benchmark performances. Also, improve a bit the screen resolution, maintain the smoothness of GS II and they'll have a winner.
So, i'm getting a little bit tired of all these kind of rumors. I mean, one week we have a rumor with some specs, the other wee we have an other rumor and the specs are totally different...
come on guys, lets just wait 2 weeks from now on, and we'll know the real deal.
quadcore is total useless i have galaxy s2 its good enough to run all games.also its only some specs increase with nothing revolutionary.
Real hero of this year will be a nokia lumia windows 8 devices,
maybe this event has got jack to do with the new GAXAXY III - could be the new NOTE 2
If these rumors r true, Then My galaxy Note is way better than this piece of crap...
I find it hard to believe that Samsung will do the same thing as Apple with the A5X circus. The S2 is still a benchmark phone, and I do not want to believe that they will not eclipse the HTC One X. I just hope they have also been mindful of design. They make ugly phones. Also I hope they address the connectivity dropout issue.
Gilberto, 17 Apr 2012as I suspected, so much delay and samsung just makes more of the same, or quad core cortex A9 ... morefeeble?!! pentile??!!
someone get me a hammer!
have you ever heard of super AMOLED plus? I dont think so since you seem to be completely ignorant!
try breaking the samsung galaxy S2 by dropping it, I wasnt able to
