oujisan, 17 Apr 2012here i thought chipsets like the tegra 3 were going to kill... this just comes out at 4 cores ... moreI hope you understand that a arm core is not equivalent to a x64 core. Even if it has 100 arm cores and 40Ghz, its not the same as a server or PC.
For your information, there are more than 2000 cores on a GPU. The number of cores and frequency is not an indication of processing power.
Cod3rror, 17 Apr 2012Quad Core A-15 at 2GHz, that is going to be one hell of a chip. Will probably be coupled with ... moreThere is something like this already. It's called Ubuntu Desktop for Android :)
Wow mobile OS [small screen , limited apps , no dvd/bluray drive] is resource killer hahaha. my netbook with 1,8Ghz single core can run dualboot Windows 7 & Latest Ubuntu + bluray drive without any problem :p
ashek, 18 Apr 2012LMFAO! I second grade feelings.'Your feelings' stupid auto correct

oujisan, 17 Apr 2012here i thought chipsets like the tegra 3 were going to kill... this just comes out at 4 cores ... moreThat's how tech goes... It just gets better and faster... Which is needed for good quality apps and games... Especially FPS intensive games like racing and shooting...
oujisan, 17 Apr 2012here i thought chipsets like the tegra 3 were going to kill... this just comes out at 4 cores ... more4 GHz with passive cooling? Sure, and it will explode within 5 minutes of usage.
lol... Intel will have their 22nm factory up and running by the end of the year.

The hardware is flying, in couple of years, your phone could really replace your PC, if they manage to adapt the software properly.
Imagine having a phone, come home, dock it, the dock has a mouse/keyboard and a monitor connected to it, once it's docked a full desktop OS opens up with everything saved as you left it. Leaving somewhere? Grab the phone, the desktop OS freezes, mobile OS instantly kicks in with everything, again, the way it was... bam!
oujisan, 17 Apr 2012here i thought chipsets like the tegra 3 were going to kill... this just comes out at 4 cores ... moreIt took me a while to understand processor technology, but trust me, it's not all as simple as you think. Future handsets, Nokia included (for windows phone 8) will need dual core ARM or S4 Krait chips as part of their architecture to handle intensive use of apps via multitasking, high resolution screens and graphic intense gaming which will mean a need to boost RAM too. Running these smoothly will mean a need for beefed up processors to meet future market demand.
Maybe this is what Samsung has been waiting for sgs3
here i thought chipsets like the tegra 3 were going to kill... this just comes out at 4 cores at 2Ghz....
My god man when will it stop.. at 4Ghz? 12 core?
I dont think I need my phone to run a entire server one day... just run smoothly
Yes, Finally!!!
The problem with Cortex a15 is its power consumption is really high compared to A9 which makes A9 better since its good combination of power and battery life. Snapdragon S4 is better in terms of power consumption and uses some A15 features but its gpu is weak.
Now this a15 quad with good battery life and samsung's own gpu will make it a a perfect and future-proof soc!!
Apples A6 Chip...:)
That's what they say but when they release the devices battery life is the same.
Om Nom, 17 Apr 2012I think this could be the new proc for the new iphone, or I'm wrong? :)Definitely not the processor for the IPhone 5, it looks likely that when the Galaxy S3 gets a mid life refresh come Q3/4, we'll see the A15 Chip inside of it but my bets are on the Galaxy Note 2 being the most likely candidate and for both international and US versions.
Om Nom, 17 Apr 2012I think this could be the new proc for the new iphone, or I'm wrong? :)you are wrong!
better say, new proc for new SGS series
AnonD-39798, 17 Apr 2012can anyone please tell me that what's the difference between quad core and dual core processor?Dual cure has two coros, quad core has four. simple! :)
Om Nom, 17 Apr 2012I think this could be the new proc for the new iphone, or I'm wrong? :)The new iphone will have the same chip as the current ipad. Its been that way every year.
1 GHz Cortex-A8 was in iPad 1 and in iphone 4
Dual-core 1 GHz Cortex-A9 in iPad 2 and in 4S
Dual-core 1 GHz Cortex-A9 with PowerVR SGX543MP4 (quad-core graphics) in The New iPad and iphone 5
iPhone is so cool that it does not need new processor.
At least iPhone users say that :)
