still no 5g in india
Meh
Boom, 20 Jan 2020They should have a 6th option to choose from in this poll:
6) I would like to die early so p... more5G has Sub 6Ghz and mmWave.
Because mmWave is basically microwave, it has ionizing radiation despite lower intensities. Sub 6Ghz is safer.

No 5G for me or my family.
I picked option 3 (care about the other spec). It is between 4 or 3, but ended up picked 3 because I don't really care about 5G right now. I prefer for it not to be there and make the phone cheaper, but the reality is that mid-high and high end phone probably will have 5G. If they do offer non 5G variant, it is likely that the non 5G spec will be gimped. If it is between totally same spec phone, then I'll buy the non 5G version. If the 5G version has different spec (probably better cam, battery, soc, etc) then I'll need to think about whether those better features/spec worth it in relation to the price. Honestly I think I will regret buying a phone just for 5G right now since there are several implementation so I'm pretty sure it will end up like the experience that I had with my first 4G phone where it only support a small range of bands making it useless most of the time since phone operator starts using multiple bands.
I will never buy a 5G phone. Studies show not good for environment and birds and other species. 4G is good enough. 4G networks can provide speeds up to a few hundred MBPS but due to insufficient resources like antennas or congestion in countries like India the speed we get is hardly 8-10 MBPS. So instead of investing in 5G which we don't need if telecom companies can improve existing infrastructure it will be good.
I can't even find a proper 4G signal in my metropolis.
If I am a hacker definitely go for 5G because of the speed...
5G is rabbit alike
4G is turtle alike

6) I would like to die early so please give me 5G
Remember people 5G = cancer.
Ask any doctor it's radiation is beyond that of Chernobyl - it will bring Doom to mankind as we know it!! 😉
This should have an option for "No, I'm not planning to upgrade to 5g phone since it is not available in my country".
Not many countries have 5G yet.
5G it's ok but not needed as primary choice, it's enough 4G lte, 5G only if you need for few pc connection as data router.
i don't care about 5g, even i don't care about 4g, these new technologies are nothing but a fraud. They offer high speeds but you can't do anything, you can use just a few gigabytes of data, some carriers don't allow high resolution video streaming and so on, so i don't care about that garbage
To me 5G is a liability, not extra. LTE-A is *much* more than fast enough for me, and I'm not going to gain any value out of 5G for the lifetime of my next phone. Rumors of higher cost and 5G modems requiring a separate battery-using chip make it a liability. I am hoping the S20 comes with a 4G variant. I'd even rather take a last-gen chipset with 4G modem built-in but with the rumored camera and design improvements. If we get new flagships like that from other brands, it might be the first time I stray away from Samsung too.
I have an iphone 6s, i want to upgrade my phone by the end of the year, looking at the news it looks like apply is going to release 5g phones this year. I like to keep a phone for a long time. Would it be worth it to pay the extra bucks for a 5G phone now, im reading a lot a comments saying that 5g technology on those phones wont be very high end, or just get last years iphone for cheaper and wait the next 5 years for the technology to be more developed.

I haven't seen 4G go below 50Mbps in the last several years (but more than that on average) in a city, why would I care for 5G, lmao
V, 19 Jan 2020If it's 5G, it should also be notchless and punch hole free, otherwise it's a no go.
The list... moreAll the 5G models are 4G flagships with the 5G antenna
There is no way to upgrade a 4G handset to 5G not hardware, not software.
People are commenting on the 5G premium
Here is the thing that you should focus on...
If your country is implementing 5G you should invest in a 5G handset now
The reason is there us no major upgrade planned for 5G phones, better camera, better speakers etc
The premium you pay now is the 5G one, this will be less than cost of buying two phoned a 5G later and a 4G one now
Samsung 5G phone has a 104MP camera
In September you will see the maximum 5G premium ever extorted when Apple releases a 5G handset
Rule one even if a year early get a 5G phone
Lol at you people buying for futureproofing.
You'll just replace your phone next year when the next shiny with better 5g comes around.
But then again, these poor telcos need the help they can get since they'll have a hard time normalizing a $1000 sale now.
If I'm in need of a new phone, yes. Although I probably can't use it now but it's something to make me feel "comfortable" in the long run.
