There will be 100x digital or hybrid zooming.. They didn't say it's optical! Forget my argument where your complains are useless!
Nick Tagataka, 21 Jan 2020Then how about going even further and writing "1000x" zoom instead? That surely doesn't sound ... moreHahaha you don't need to be harsh! If 1000X zooming will possible in captured pictures it won't like functional zooming through camera app before taking photos.. Triggered!
Nice Guy, 20 Jan 2020I don't see they wrote 100x optical zoom on back.. And how it's flase when the hybrid/digital ... moreThen how about going even further and writing "1000x" zoom instead? That surely doesn't sound misleading to you right?
Nice Guy, 20 Jan 2020I think Huawei fan like you won't buy any s20 device. If so the possibility is so low! So your... moreWhat you're essentially saying: "You won't buy the phone anyway so you don't have any rights to complain about the company's misleading advertising practices"
You should start learning how to construct a logical argument.
LOL, 20 Jan 2020Not necessarily with pixel binning.Pixel binning doesn't improve the zoom quality. Instead it enhances the light sensitivity therefore improves the colour reproduction, tonality, SNR, dynamic range etc.
Jimbob, 21 Jan 2020The 100x text is the wrong direction.. when im holding the phone sideways I need people to kno... moreHow about stealth remote-controlled zooming? Those who love taking upskirt pictures will be delighted.
Uros, 20 Jan 2020So, only the biggest S20 will have this top notch shooter, right? The smaller brothers won't..... moreYou want premium features, better cough up premium cash.
Besides, I believe Samsung is changing its product lineup. The S20 is the successor of the S10e, the S20 Plus is the successor of the S10/S10+, the S20 Ultra is something totally new and a premium phone.
The 100x text is the wrong direction.. when im holding the phone sideways I need people to know its 100X zooming in powerrr
LOL, 20 Jan 2020Not necessarily with pixel binning.Yeah but visually speaking, 108MP on a phone will never be true 108MP. Zoom in after a picture is taken and it'll look like 5MP. That's just the way it is with phones.
The Last Oracle, 20 Jan 2020I am guessing the 10x will be optical and the 10x on top of that (100x in total), will be smar... moreYes, that is correct, but having 10x digital zoom is going to undoubtedly diminish the quality. Technically speaking, ANY digital zoom degrades the quality. Therefore, it is unfair and misleading to put 100x when 'only' 10x is truly available [in good quality].
Also 10x is still very inpressive for a phone. No one would be crying if they were honest and put 10x.
Hey, who also thinks that the "designers" of these super freaking ugly cameras on iPhone 11 series and Samsung S20 series use opiates before going to work...
Nick Tagataka, 20 Jan 2020So you think writing "100x" just for the sake of attracting customers is a commendable behavio... moreNot really. The Huawei P30 Pro was advertised with its 50x zoom, which was probably less 1MP. It's zoom range was about 5x in optical zoom, and everything else beyond was just digital.
Smartphone algorithms aren't adventurous enough, and image or sensor fusion isn't being explored enough, or smartphones can easily up-res photos for much higher MP and much clearer details. This is both possible in photos and for video. They need high RAM and sensors with extremely fast readout. Also, high Res Modes from Olynpus/Panasonic/DJI can easily be introduced on smartphones with as good results, handheld, if the stabilisation mechanism is designed well.
Would have been nice to see renders based on the confirmed screen aspect ratio of 20:9 instead of 19.5:9.
So, only the biggest S20 will have this top notch shooter, right? The smaller brothers won't...? That would be a shame, cause I so hate these big bricks of these times.....
Yeah the pics don't look good when you zoom in say from a distance of about 30ft and take a picture of what's being displayed by pc monitor. You can definitely get more info than your regular Samsung or Apple when you zoom in from items at about 15ft to 20ft away. Perhaps Samsung will fix all these with software by the time the device comes out in late February.
