He is not from mobile sector, but knows everything that happens there.
He told me all the OEMs could give better photos and video if they wanted, but pack weaker software because it is cheaper.
Phones would cost much more if the companies decided to use all the power of image sensors.

I have used my friends iPhone 11 pro max earlier. We are not impressed at all. There is no way 60hz is better than 120hz or 90hz... No way.
He was showing me appauling scrolling on twitter. He is going to take it back and get an android gaming phone. 865 powered. And so am I.
Also we have 5g all over London. 5g is unlimited for a small fee.
Anyway. The iPhone 11 pro max is far behind next months flagships. By far in everyway.
Sorry. But that is the truth. And we are future resistant with 5g too now.

Well....from one side of view point, oneplus will cost almost the same, and from other (my personal), I hope they will see decline sale by at least 30%.

The iPho... moreI have the iPhone 11 Pro Max, I love it hands down (that's after playing with the ROG2, 1+7Pro, G-Note 10 and G-Fold), but the original price is over priced but my wife purchased it doing the great Holidays sales.
Considering these outrageous price-gouged 5G devices, that will not change our daily activities/lives for years to come, I will not upgrade my iPhone for a while. I'll just sit-back and watch the early-adapters go in, many not knowing, that their 5G device is inferior to my device in many ways. Where we live, our 4G is better/faster (w/out running hot at all) than some cities/corner blocks 5G. Go figure.

Damn, was considering changing my Note 10+ to the Ultra but not paying that.
Exploiting the lack of competition from Huawei I feel.

I am not sure these are the final prices. But, with 5G, increased and faster RAM, much faster storage, multiple camera modules etc I expect prices to go up.
Hopefully the price increase isn't very high.
More importantly, the improvement in smartphone cameras is a lot more dramatic this year, and one can replace more than low res Instagram and Facebook photos with smartphone cameras. Hopefully some of these can allow for good prints and have enough detail and dynamic range to replace decent point and shoot cameras. Plus, hopefully the video quality has also improved noticeably.
I think Smartphone makers should make new smartphones every 2-3 years ?instead of every year) and have Very Drastic and Extremely Radical improvements in design and more importantly, in camera quality.

S20 ultra- This is a 5g phone with 128gb base storage at $1200.
The iPhone 11 pro max at 64gb base storage and lack of 5g starts at 1100.
The huawei mate 30 pro 5g starts at $1300.
The specs of this phone destroys both and some will stay say it's overpriced.

I hand a Hawaii honor note 10. 6 inches 5 almost 7 inches, full hD, HDR 10 screen for only 270 USD now compare that to galaxy s20 ultra which cost 1500 USD??? similar phones and screen sizes. One cost like it has artificial intelligence in it .

The bigger battery size, the camera and the new snapdragon will keep up ... moreWith Samsung, it has been, without fail since at least as early as S6, that you could get the latest flagship 3 months from launch for 20-30% off online. Generally the SK variant(a mid-high storage tier) has the biggest discount, but if you really need the bands, the HK variant (also with SD instead of Exynos, which is generally a benefit) is also relatively cheap. Don't rely on carriers or brick-and-mortar stores to give you a discount as they're often bound by the MSRP until the manufacturer says otherwise, which IMO is BS.
In contrast there is no cheap way of getting Chinese phones, they stay close to the MSRP everywhere, until the manufacturer says otherwise, so smart buyers know to buy Samsung cheap, and after discounts Samsung is often cheaper than Huawei of the same generation.

Sadly they also overprice phones, same as Samsung and Apple. They are in the same boat.
At least with the recent and upcoming flagship phones.
I wish they changed tactics and started selling phones 20-30 % cheaper.
