Shadocx, 22 Jan 2020The Snapdragon 865 is more powerful than the Mediatek Dimensity 1000. And that's Geekbench 5,... moreHe's talking about (cheap-ness) not about performance, if you want performance then you should go with a flagship phone not a mid-range one. Besides, Dimensity support hardware-optimized AV1 codec which sd865 doesn't! This feature alone makes me want to buy it because it's future-proofed when youtube and other video apps start using it.
Gusta, 22 Jan 2020Give them a chance because monopoly of qualcomm is not good for us. If Dimensity 1000 perform ... moreI have no problem with the performance of MediaTek CPUs, it's specifically the lack of updates.
Gusta, 24 Jan 2020Only by price? Then u have not answered my question. Who will buy Mi series if Redmi series ha... moreIt's not my obligation to answer that question. If you don't see why Redmi is selling on significantly lower price margins and sells on specific market (developing countries) then it just means that the Redmi as a sub brand is doing the right thing.
DroidBoye, 24 Jan 2020Sub brands has no such limitations with regards to the SoC that they could use. The only limit... moreOnly by price? Then u have not answered my question. Who will buy Mi series if Redmi series has lower price but has same spec?
Anonymous, 21 Jan 2020Since when this phone is flagship?
It is a midrange with 8xx ....
Flagships from 2018 ar... moreMan every phone with 8xx CPU is a flagship.
How this phone can be midranger with best CPU available???
Flagship phones are determined by CPU not by number of features.
If i put onto Samsung Note 10 plus SD435 CPU it will be also flagship by your comparison??? Because no phone have more features. Or ROG 2 phone.
Abhi-Darth-Plagueis, 21 Jan 2020The bigger question : will it crap out on 120 but LCD? Or be a proper flagship with 120hz oled... moreMan LCD is good enoug.
Oled is costly and leaves bruns on screen when set to max brightness for too long.
Gusta, 23 Jan 2020Why? Subbrand should be cheaper and has less spec than the main brand. For example, Realme is ... moreSub brands has no such limitations with regards to the SoC that they could use. The only limitation they have is the price point they are selling.
Anonymous, 22 Jan 2020This is my dream device, top SOC, 120HZ IPS LCD for extended use without burn in, great camera... moreIf you don't want burn ins on a OLED display, just don't use your phone at full brightness all the time. I used a tablet with OLED for 3 years, no signs of burn in issues. Only a little bit yellowish, but besides that, the screen is still in perfect condition. But I do have to say I use all my devices at very low brightness, that is the reason using OLED for years not a problem for me.
Sadly Realme devices aren't available in the Netherlands. We just got Xiaomi, and we didn't even have Google pixels. Realme is one of the only brands to have flagships with headphone jacks
DroidBoye, 22 Jan 2020Based on your logic, Redmi shouldn't have became a sub brand. lol. Why? Subbrand should be cheaper and has less spec than the main brand. For example, Realme is cheaper and the spec is below Oppo.
If Redmi 30 Pro has top notch spec (same spec as Mi flagship) but the price is below Mi flagship series then who will buy the Mi flagship series? Buyer will choose the cheaper one.
This is my dream device, top SOC, 120HZ IPS LCD for extended use without burn in, great cameras, especially with the souped up Spectra ISP, good RAM and storage options. Now if MIUI doesn't crap it's pants and the hardware works well together, I know what I'm buying.
The dual hole cameras are dropping the ball but for someone who uses the black notification bar with white icons notch option, it doesn't really matter.
Anonymous, 22 Jan 2020hope it will come in elegant black too not the crazy colors only red blue purpleWho cares about the color of the phone? You put it in a case anyway. And nobody gives a shit about the color of your phone anyway.
hope it will come in elegant black too not the crazy colors only red blue purple
Schwarzenegger, 22 Jan 2020Any news about the selfie camera? Are they still going with that ugly pill shaped punchole?I sure hope the Pro version doesn't have the punch-hole camera. But it probably will do. Instant no-buy for me.
I know it's quite difficult to search for reviews and other technical data, which can be found for instance on Anandtech which publishes not only artificial benchmarks but industry recognized SPEC benchmarks as well but I'm too lazy to look for all these reviews now so I'll just give you this link: https://browser.geekbench.com/android-benchmarks
SD845: ~ 500 GB5 points
SD855: ~ 750 GB5 points
SD865: ~ 930 GB5 points (not yet published, makes it almost TWICE as fast as SD845)
Also, SD855 is several times faster than SD845 in AI tasks and SD865 again beats SD855 in this metric.
I wonder why I even bother to reply to your exceptionally bright comment.
IpsDisplay, 22 Jan 2020No no no your not going to get away with this
Give your details 50% overall boost Where??
... moreThey're talking about CPU, this post is about Geekbench and if you make some research you'll see the performance difference between SD 835, 845, 855, 865 on Geekbench 4.
There was 50% between SD 845 to 855, quite huge.
But just 20-25% between SD 835 to 845 and 855 to 865.
Meanwhile, Apple got 15-20% performance improvements when comparing the iPhone 7, X, XS Max and 11 Pro Max, but nobody cares because they're already ahead.
